How I am honored to be apart of the Iconic Eight! What an honor it is to vie for the Iconic Cup! I think that’s what most people are expecting me to say, but to be honest, I don’t care about it. I don’t care about the tournament. I don’t care about what it’s meant to represent. All that I care about right now is alleviating this feeling of boredom that I have. For the past few weeks, I think that I’m starting to fall out of love with wrestling. It kind of Ironic: all I wanted is to belong and have an opportunity to raise my game. I wanted to be accepted and appreciated by my peers. I have Chelsea and Jael at my side now but it just seems to bring more dumb things my way. People like Andrea Valentine and Erica Ford trying to lecture me and dictate to me about what is important.


Something that I thought was funny though, as I looked over the list of competitors for the Iconic Cup, I realized that there are no real icons involved. I mean, I’m not an Icon. I’ve never claimed to be one either. I’m just a mercenary for God’s sake. But when I look at the people in the Iconic Cup, I see people who are just as flawed, if not more so than myself.


[Picking up a handful of darts, April looks at the wall, aiming carefully before hitting a picture directly in the center.]


A wannabe feminist who is nothing but an opportunity vulture. Someone who I don’t really have any positive feelings for but not too many negative feelings either. Someone who I don’t think would cause me much of a problem in the Cup at all. Daisy Thrash.


[Another dart pierces right through another competitor’s picture, between her smiling teeth.]


Someone who has annoyed me from the start. Not by anything she’s done to me personally, but her personality I just find disgustingly obnoxious. This “All you have to do is believe” crap is truly getting on my nerves and I truly wish she had stayed away. Savannah Sunshine, I will introduce you to the darkness.


[April angrily throws another dart, right through the heart of the next picture, a smirking picture of Revy taken from ringside.]


A filthy, disgusting cretin who can’t even properly handle her liquor. Someone who I just want to pay back for that loss. I remember everything, Revy. I just want you to know that. I know your flaws, I know there is far more to you than meets the eye.


[April clicks her tongue as she focuses in on another picture. A small smile manages to creep over her lips as she stares down the picture of Andrea Valentine…right before sending another dart flying right through her picture, the dart sinking into her forehead.]
 
Ah yes, Blondie. I really don’t think you’re ready for this. I mean, look at the talent assembled in this match. You have former Vixens Champion Tarah Nova, former Specialists Champions like myself and my opponent this week, JET champions like Azumi….and you are the most fresh-faced and most naïve of them all. I do wonder if it was worth my time trying to help and protect you. I honestly do. Just know that no one is going to gift you this. This is not going to be like the win Chelsea giftwrapped for you against Aria.


[April looks at the next picture, conflicted for a moment on where to throw the dart, deciding to simply toss it through the JET World Championship belt that Azumi is holding in the photograph.]


Why can’t you just go away, Azumi? Everything you touch is mired in failure. Your relationships, your wrestling career, everything is shit when it comes to you. I still don’t see what people see in you, why they think you are capable of winning something like this. Sure, you held some belt in Japan that no one in America cares about, but on this side of the Pacific you are not living up to how highly people like Manami-sensei and Erica think of you. Maybe you’ll figure it out sometime in the future. Do I expect you to figure it out before the beginning of March? Probably not. I don’t really consider it fun beating up people I know who aren’t capable of defending themselves properly, but if you want to try to knock me down again, I’ll just see to it that you fail again.

Then there’s my former boss. It’s safe to say that she is not someone I feel indebted to in any way, but someone who I find highly hypocritical. She sees someone as a target just because they don’t rate in her book or failed to live up to the expectations she or the “EAW Universe” laid out for her. People had similar opinions of her tenure as General Manager but it is what it is. Management decided that, in your blind rage, you weren’t fit to lead anymore…and I certainly don’t think in the ring you are fit to call yourself a leader anymore.


[The very last picture on the wall April walks towards the wall to stand at eye level to gaze at it. She starts strategically sticking darts on the picture of Stephanie as she talks.]


You’re not the only one with a good memory, you stuck up bitch. I remember when the first time we wrestled, you rolled me out of the ring like a fucking log. Sure, beating you made that memory much easier to forget, but it’s not out of my mind. I know more than most of the people on this roster what you can do. You are also familiar with what I can do in the ring, aren’t you? Good. I don’t care what kind of animal you think you have turned into either. Animals can be hunted, no matter how big or ferocious they are.


So, my dear Animal, you have sunk as low as to call me Chelsea’s bitch? I align myself with someone who had respect for me and my talent and I’m suddenly a cowering whore taking orders from a pimp? A prison bitch washing Big Bertha’s underwear in the cell? I think you have a very false impression of what the Crowe’s Nest is. It’s an association of equals, named for its founder. Chelsea saw the talent that Jael and myself have and offered an alliance of sorts. We are a collective unit and we will watch out for ourselves. You talk about this offering of joining your group of Manami-sensei’s proteges, but I do have a question: Where the fuck were all of you when Sheridan tried to end me? OH! Two of them were actually kicking the shit out of me alongside her! I think it was Haruna who kicked me in the jaw, I don’t remember. Yes, I refuse to call her that ridiculous name she refers to herself as now. Sakuya has the excuse of being so new to EAW she wasn’t even here yet, so I don’t hold a grudge to her. Where were you, Stephanie? Filming one of your new shows? Training? Sleeping around? Please, kindly inform me of where you were when one of your “sisters” actually needed you.



Nah, I’ll pass. Chelsea may not be someone I think of as a friend, but so far she has proven herself a far better keeper of her word than you or anyone else in this company.


As for Empire, I don’t care if it’s in your hometown, your mother’s womb, the moon or the fiery entrance to hell, I’m going to do everything possible to make sure you lose. Don’t be so dim-witted as to suggest that I need Chelsea or Jael to be in my corner to beat you. We both know that’s not true. I don’t take pride in a lot of things I say or do anymore, but one thing that I will never do is quit. I don’t know if you watched the Specialists Contender tournament way back last year, but Sophia Rose nearly ripped my knee apart and I didn’t quit. I would rather lose an arm, a leg, or pass out covered in my own filth than to ever give up to someone like you. I don’t tap anything but my foot unless I hear good music. I don’t scratch my scalp unless it itches. I’m certainly not intimidated by someone who bombastically and arbitrarily calls herself the War Queen.


Can I submit you? I dunno. But I do know I can beat you. And you know, surely, that of all the people on the roster, trying to submit me may not be the smartest thing you can do. Sure, you’re well-trained in submissions and all that, but I think we can agree that my submission knowledge is second to no one in the company.


History is written by the people who win wars, Stephanie, and just like at Pain for Pride, I’m going to make you look around in confusion and shock again, wondering how the hell did this person beat me.


And then, at the Iconic Cup, history will repeat itself again.


That is the field of the so-called Iconic Cup. None of the people in this field are worthy of being called icons. We are all either too weak, too stupid, or too blinded by rage to truly be icons in wrestling. None of us are worthy of such a status. That trophy is bright though, from what I hear, and maybe the closer I get to it, the closer I’ll want to hold it for my own. There are only two icons that exist for me, at least of those that I have had the opportunity to face in the ring.


One of them is our Women’s World Champion.


The other is the very soul, hopefully resting comfortably in Heaven, that the tournament was named in honor of.


I’m nowhere near their level yet…but I will do everything in my power to keep people like Stephanie and Tarah and Savannah far away from this cup as possible. Even lost, tortured souls like mine have their own reasoning for doing what they do.

He sigh softly as he fiddles with the iPad he holds in his hands.

The Intern ''I've been asked to read something, a message from Ryan who is currently taking care of himself ahead of his Street Fight against Carlos Rosso. Russo, he wanted me to say Russo. Why? I mean the guy's name is with two O's. Anyway, here goes.''

Ian clears his throat and raises the device at about chin level so that the camera can still see his face.

The Intern ''The following speech is brought to you by The Intern, who I am sure will deliver it in an Oscar Winning fashion.''

Ian gives a what the hell? look toward the cameraman, obviously he didn't read the thing prior doing it out loud.

The Intern ''I apologize for not delivering this communique on my own, but I as my body hurts like a mother f...He can't say that can he? ... Like a mother bugger I am enjoying the feel of arching muscles way too much right now to actually spend time in front of a camera to distribute this missive to Russo the Tiger. Make growling sound. What? I won't do that! I'll sound like a kitten. Sorry I'll continue. Quit your b... Bitching Ian I knew you would be complaining through reading this but it's not part of your job description to get to work silly. Christ...''

The man in his mid 20ties rolls his eyes in a ~what am I doing here~ fashion before continuing again.

The Intern ''Rosso I have watched your mediocre attempt at a post-match interview, I saw your lack in taste when it comes to beer and your mistreatment of EAW equipment. Not that you care, you have the type of contract that allows you to do whatever you want including look like a dumb-ass on television. Although you do not need an adamentium contract in order to do that. You and I are facing each other in a Street Fight this Sunday, that lovely little contract of yours unable you to whatever crosses your mind without consequences. The truth? It doesn't bother me one bit! I do not need a contract to feel secure in my job, I don't need that kind of contract either in order to do where I need to so that I can beat your ass and score the pin on you. You are under the impression that you have the upper hand in the current scenario, you believe you are the hunter and I am pray within the confines of a controlled environment in the format of a Street Fight? If so, you could not be more mistaken, and you are a blind damned fool if you think I am going to be an easy target once the bell rings. Pause for dramatic effect.''

Ian followed this with a moment of silent, for dramatic effect. Hey, I'm reading this too after all. How cool is that? A narrator following an intern reading a guy's promo. Wicked. 


The Intern ''Can I continue?''

The Intern ''Thank you. You are clearly, and in the most pathetic of ways underestimating your opponent Carlos. It is clear as day that you know nothing of what I have done in the past, of my Hardcore background, of my ability to withstand incredible amount of pain and my drive to go on through it all. You had a glimpse of it last night, and you can expect the whole expose comes Voltage. If you think what you got me through last night was enough to put me away you will need to step up your game several notches because I come to the ring Sunday with malicious intent and wicked intentions. I have no desire to ''get even'' with you comes the show, no this is no longer what this is about. I got even with you last night by denying you that pacifier you call the Interwire Championship. This communique has a simple purpose, to let you know oh big Tiger than I am in fact not the pray: You are. Carlos the fact we both are allowed to do what our heart's desire against each other is not an advantage for you but a double edged sword I intend to wield and shove up your ass. You are about to be witness of the whole nine yards when it comes to Ryan Wilson, I did say I had so much more to offer and that I did not need to change or adapt in order to get better. What I'm saying is, I have been holding back since I arrived here in EAW and gradually I have been opening up, letting more in, showing what I am truly about more and more until the time comes where I go All Out and the EAW Universe witnesses the full extent of my abilities.''

Ian seems impressed by what he is reading as he looks to continue to read.

The Intern ''The Street Fight stipulation is perfect for me to unleash a good display of the full extent of my abilities. I'm going to show you, show the EAW why I was a Champion in every federations I stepped foot in. I'm going to show you why Mister Dedede got my name at the end of an EAW Contract. Chairs? Scaffolds? Tables? Singapore Canes? A car? A fat fan? A hot dog cart? The ambulance that will drive you away once we're done? Those are the least of the items I might use against you buddy! This is a street fight! Everything goes ya? And if you act suddenly like a scarredy cat as you realize you are out of ideas on how to put me down and try to escape with your car you can bet your bottom dollar that I will Days of Thunder your ass and drag you back to the arena! I am much more resourceful than I let on, I have much more in me that what you've seen thus far and you are going to see it comes Sunday. Now...''

Ian wiped some sweat off his forehead. 

The Intern ''You said something in your promo that absolutely thrilled me. You actually are going to focus some of your time on making my life a possible living hell. I love this! Because I had no intention of letting go of you past this Sunday either! You want to try and mess me up? It'll be my pleasure to not only dodge your attempts BUT throw some of my own your way! You are in my sight for the foreseeable future bucko and I plan to make you sweat! I saw in your profile that you have a, how did you wrote it, a trigger when some names or sentences are mentioned to you including my name. Believe me buddy, as the weeks will go by you will be yelling my name! Cursing it even! And for me? That will be HILARIOUS!''

The Intern ''Hang ... Damn it Ryan... Hang in there Ian you are almost done reading this. Carlos you don't scare me and you won't scare me no matter how much hurt you push on me! Keep in mind that the more you hurt me, the more I'll come back! My goal? Heck! Why not admit it: I will use and abuse you! I will do to you what I have done with Alex Reynolds: I will use you to elevate myself and push my studmuffin ass to the next level! Getting over a man like you will do wonders for the future of my career! You might be able to injure me, you might, I mean I am a man I am not invincible. But if that ever happens, I`ll heal and I will come back. The only one who will force me into retirement is me! The Ryan Wilson Show is going 2.0 and it will be at your expense Carlos.''

The Intern ''It's going to happen, you won't like it, but I didn't ask for your opinion on the matter. Hashtag Deal With It. And That Just Happened. You can stop reading now Ian. Go to your hotel room, have a good meal or... Or a hooker.''

The Intern sighed clearly he was glad this was over and he closes down the tablet.

The Intern ''Thank you for your time ladies and gentlemen.''

He moves close to the camera in order to stop it, concluding this promo.

(The camera opens to Stephanie “Cloud” Matsuda sitting in her office back in the Brooklyn War Room Dojo. Her body is turned away from the camera as she’s talking on the phone)

“Yeah? What did he say? Good, it means things are moving forward. I was hoping to have his support in this. He and I go way back ya know. I was his valet during my first year on the road. He taught me a lot about this business, and in turn, I helped him rack up a collection of titles. Tell the boys they did well. Also, I want them to look out for his interests. Me? Monica and I got things handled on my end. How are the negotiations coming along? Did you show them how much merch I brought in last year? Hell, I’m starring in a tokusatsu soon. Alright, I trust you sweets. Let me know what they say. Okay, bye.”

(Cloud hangs up and turns the chair around. She closes her eyes, satisfied with the news she just received. Aware she’s being taped, she puts her feet on the table before addressing the EAW Universe.)

“I don’t say much these days. And quite honestly, I don’t care what anyone thinks of it. I’m a busy woman, making moves while changing the game from the inside. I have students to train, a promotion to run, and a future to carve. ‘She’ taught me these things were more important than friendship. Whatever, I have a family to take care of anyways. This week is a breath of fresh air as I’ll be nowhere near Casper the Edgy Ghost. Instead, I’ll be going one-on-one with ‘The Killer Bee.’ The only thing April killed is her career the day she shook hands with Chelsea Crowe and co. I have to say I’m quite shocked she sold out the way she did. April Song is the last person I thought would become somebody’s bitch. Meh, c'est la vie. With the Iconic Cup on the horizon, what better way to prepare for the match then to finish what I started with April back at Pain for Pride X. I didn’t forget my elimination sweets. You and I went tit-for-tat, almost to the point where we were equals. And you know what? We were. I’ll give you that April Song - you and I were potential rivals, giving it our all. It’s no wonder you became Manami’s final student. But here’s the thing…

(Cloud stands up from her desk)

That was then. I’m a different animal than I was back then. You know that Women’s Champion you couldn’t beat? I took her to her absolute limit. And that fearless leader of yours? I made her tap in the middle of the square circle. Heh, I think I can do the same with you April. I feel like I can make you tap in the middle of that ring, cry uncle, and wish you were someone else. You’re not the ruthless soldier you used to be - just another lost soul who doesn’t know dae wae. Hmm...there’s a place for you with my organization if you choose. The same woman polished you and I - me, you, Azumi, and Sakuya are ‘Daughters of Manami,’ a title passed down to women trained by the Goddess of Puroresu herself. There’s still hope for you April Song, another verse in the sonnet that is your life. But if you want to lie with a nest of crows, (shrugs) then it’ll be your undoing. I could illuminate your existence, make you feel alive again. The road to my destiny makes a stop in Brooklyn, and I’ll move on to take what I deserve - The Women’s World Championship. Meanwhile, that cup will be with Monica - where it belongs. 

(Cloud walks outside the office. He hands are in her pockets as she strolls outside)

I’ve been in this business too long to lose - especially in my hometown. Syracuse will be the prelude to what happens in Brooklyn. I suggest you prepare yourself April Song. You wouldn’t want history to repeat itself…

I’ll be honest. I don’t have anything to say about this match. I got nothing. I mean, did you all see the Iconic Cup preview video? Stunners after stunners after stunner. That’s all I’m bringing into this tag match. Stunners. Like not even the fact that I drink a lot and won’t hesitate to pull out a gun on y’all on an impulse. Or the fact that I’m corrupting the youth and looking good doing it. I mean, I know this is going to come off as needy and selfish, but this is Revy we are talking about. But I am more than just a couple of kicks to the gut, wrapping my arm around their head, and dropping their mother fuckin’ jaw on my mother fuckin shoulders as I sit the fuck down, and watch you flop down like a sack of potatoes.
 
Like, I’m not just an empty threat or empty promises. Everyone remember that EAW Elimination Chamber match for the Women’s Title? What’s in the box?!! What’s in the box?!! Well, it wasn’t air or stunners. Like, I do shit too. I mean, if you are all going to talk about how proud Andrea is, how feminist Daisy is, and how bubbly Savannah Sunshine, like why not talk about how I’m one of the most despicable person on the Empire Roster. This is fuckin’ Propaganda , this is like Communism. This isn’t my America where we highlight the bad news and don’t shy away from exploiting how horrible people are. We make some damn good TV, and you all can’t pretend and tell yourself you don’t enjoy watching me lose on a weekly basis or getting screwed out of one fuckin’ second in the beat the clock challenge. Or even just watching me screw things over from the girl that thinks she is good at everything, or the one that believes she is doing something impactful for all women kind, or someone that is so naïve and ignorantly blissful of her surrounding, it’s both adorable and idiotic. And Yes! I can say that, because Savannah Sunshine is my friend, and no one takes advantage of her or messes with her unless it’s me! You try, you get a bullet to the head. Ok, maybe not a bullet to the head, because that would be attempted murder…. Or just murder. But I’ll blow your fuckin’ knee caps out and I can get away with it just being assault. Got it?! No one lays their hand on Savannah Sunshine.
 
I mean, I’ve worked so hard in not trying so hard, I’m just so angry that all I’m labeled as is someone that knows how to throw in a move or too. You know what that’s like saying to me? Revy, you have talent. You have the skills to execute this move so flawlessly and take people out. Nope! I’m more than that, and I’ll show you all. I’ll drink more, I’ll break more shit, I’m going to be fuckin iconic for all the wrong damn reasons, and Empire and the announcers won’t have a damn choice but to acknowledge me. Stop…. Non-bastardizing me EAW. Atleast the girls in the locker room have a decency to talk about how horrible a person I am, and it’s those words that truly tug on the heart strings of my cold black heart. I mean, of the Iconic Eight, I like to think, atleast, I’m the worse, and while I know Stephanie Matsuda and Azumi are shady as fuck, well, they are Asian. You can’t trust the fuckin’ Asians, and with that, no Azumi, I don’t frickin trust you going to this match. What do I look like to you? Asian?!!  I’m an American, damn it, fighting for the rights or every man, suck on that, Daisy Thrash. I am a real American. Fight for what right, Fight for your life!
 
But dead serious, I don’t care about this match. This match already has me in a predicament where I am stuck with Azumi, and thus, I’m like Haruna. Not the Zakki that has actually been winning and shit. I mean, Haruna. If it’s not me costing us the match, it’s most definitely will be Azumi, and yeah, I’m going to spend more time trash-talking about my partner than Andrea and Daisy, because the truth is, I don’t care about Andrea and Daisy. I already know their thing and what they are going to say. Andrea is going to go on and on about how she is better than everyone else, while Daisy is going to be all like, “I’m going to beat you this time, Revy. It won’t be the same as last time, I’m not the same woman you faced last time.” Yeah, I can tell, you have a 110lb blond bimbo carrying your ass.
 

This match means nothing to me other than to test my patience with Azumi, and I gotta tell you, she infuriates me. I still haven’t forgotten that pipe to the head. And while our side has all this drama, guess what? I’m sure Daisy and Andrea are just going to pretend about how you guys are friends and are going to work together to beat us, when in reality, Daisy is going to talk about how Andrea looks like a twig and sends the wrong message to all the little girls and Andrea is thinking about how she is clearly so much better than Daisy will ever be, and even openly admit she is going to carry the team and do most of the work. But hey, sweep it all under the rug, why don’t you. I’m going to be honest with myself, and just flat out say, I don’t like you all, I’m hard to work with, and I’m going to just be there to fuck shit up. Because as I said, I’m going to be the most iconic, but for all the wrong reasons, and I’d like to finally see someone actually try and do something about it.

Nah I’m just messin around. Feelin a bit nostalgic. Anyways...what a bitter sweet night for me huh? Sure I lost to Darkane again under some shady circumstances YET AGAIN! Man it just seems that The supposed “Hardcore King” can’t match me in a fair fight would ya not agree people? Either way...the relevant news from the latest edition of Friday Night Dynasty is what transpired in the closing moments of the event. Namely yours truly FINALLY being given what he has rightfully fought for and earned a million times over in the last going on three years now! A true one on one World Championship opportunity. It has taken oh so very long for this simple justice to be delivered. For you see I am true justice given human form. I am Pure light wrapped into flesh and bone. Most importantly I am...as always, The Best Wrestler Alive. Between the mess with The Pizza Boy and Heart Break Boy, the team up with Scott Oasis and Sebastian Monroe, and my blood lusted war with Jacob Senn...I have never been able to weigh in my two cents on everything that has transpired as far as the EAW Answers World Championship has been concerned. More specifically...its champion himself. Needless to say, I am impressed. Impressed of course...that it took Starr Stan this long to realize that there’s only one man in this entire multiverse who has a sure fire shot of ending the tyrannical reign of Invictus. That of course being the man who has made the impossible a tangible reality. The man who has never once conceded defeat to any opposition that has been placed before him. To put it simply, I am everything that stands against Nico Borg jam packed into one man. The man that will put an end to Nico’s stranglehold over this brand and that world championship title belt! Starr Stan, your brand is completely under siege from these pirates! Why would you not have thought from the beginning to send in your greatest asset to deal with them? I realized that I was bogged down by the King of Elite tournament. But you should have thought about that beforehand. Now I’m not necessarily telling you how to run your brand. But I am clearing up what should have been done from the beginning to have proactively prevented this situation from coming about in the first place. However you know what they say, hindsight is twenty twenty. It’s fine though. With The Pizza Boy leaving me all alone here on Dynasty...I am the Red Brands lone noble hero left standing. And ya know what? I wouldn’t want it any other way to be quite honest with you all. Bring on Nico Borg, Jacob Senn, Scott Oasis, AND ALL THE REST WHO PLAGUE THIS SHOW AND BRING DESPAIR TO THESE PEOPLE! And I will knock them all down one by one by one! Because that is who Nasir Escobar is! And that is what Nasir Escobar was always born to do! I am the chosen hero of these people. Hand picked by them as their savior AND their representative! My very first ever reckless wiring and I am competing in the main event of it for the most prestigious title on the planet earth? No easy task...but nothing that I cannot overcome! Nico I hope you’ll be watching very VERY carefully to the main event on Friday Night. For your sake you’d best be taking notes as well. Because you see Nico Borg and I have a very limited, yet telling history in the ring. It was Nico who allowed me to eliminate Jacob Senn from the Divide and Conquer match at TI. By The Way Sebastian, you can thank Nico for the assist on screwing you out of your job there. But you see, Nico lost and I won. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, it happened. It’s written in history. Period.

But now moving on to my opponent this Friday Night and a man whom I actually DO have quite the extensive history with already, Jon McAdams. Former Hardcore Champion and a man who was a constant thorn at my side on Voltage last season. He and his then partner Mike Showman were relentless in their pursuits of screwing me out of EAW Championship matches. I don’t blame them however, I DO cut quite the imposing figure...no wonder they’d be intimidated by me. Okay all jokes aside. The real reason they would not let up was because of my refusal to allow them to run amuck on Voltage assaulting whoever they wanted and the such. Typical hero work, ya know? And they were your run of the mill up and coming midcard antagonists. They were both too sorry of performers to deal with me individually so they had to constantly cheat and gang up on me to even get anywhere. Let alone the fact that even together I made them look like amateurs who had no business inside of a wrestling ring. Especially in a company as notable and massive as Elite Answers Wrestling. What truly bothered me about them was the fact that they would never let up no matter how many times I put them in their place. Playing babysitter on Voltage while watching other guys get the World Championship matches I deserved was quite a painful ordeal, I must say. Good to see it’s not the same on Dynasty now. Either way back to what I was saying. I’m not exactly sure how McAdams has been holding up since I last saw him, but I do hope he’s been improving since then. Otherwise this main event is finna be a breeze. Jon...this is your golden chance to make an impact on the landscape of EAW. I am offering you what could be your only shot this season at something you’ve been searching for in all the wrong places since you have been in this company. I can give you the opportunity for forward progression in the Land of the Elites. You see Jon, even if our past hasn’t been quite what I wanted it to be...that doesn’t mean our present and future must be the same. What I’m saying Jon McAdams is this. [Carlos appears to have calmed down after his assault of Ryan Wilson, approaching the small press conference setup backstage at Voltage with a vacant, blank expression for a moment. He notices a table set up with beer cans and various EAW promotional materials, a photo op for Moongoose McQueen, the reigning Interwire Champion. With Ryan Wilson’s blood still dried onto his chest, he smiles as he approaches it, cameras flashing and media members particularly nervous. Mao has already rushed towards the scene but is far too late.]

Ah. A little celebration for Moongoose after he retained huh? Cool. A few posters promoting Fighting Spirit and such in the background. A little thing for Grand Rampage. Even a nice little placeholder for his title belt.

[Carlos knocks the placeholder off the table with a light slap, chuckling as it clatters on the floor.]
Ah! And beer! A good customary celebration. Very Japanese. Puroresu and all that shit. But…. WHO THE FUCK DRINKS COORS LIGHT!? IT TASTES LIKE FUCKING PISS!

[In a rage Carlos picks up the six pack of beer, chunking it across the room, barely avoiding hitting one of the photographers in the head. A few gasps and startled yelps echo through the room as Carlos kicks over the table and starts shredding the posters and other promotional materials.]

You want to talk to a champion? Talk to me. Do you have any questions? No one?

[There is a tense, awkward silence as none of the reporters say anything.]

[They remain silent as Carlos pulls up a chair, sitting down in it. Mao, finally finding it safe enough to approach him comes and puts a reassuring hand on his shoulder.]

Smile all you want, you metrosexual bastard. Your victory means nothing to me, Moongoose. Everyone saw how you were bloodied. How you were beaten. You can find friends to help you out of your messes, but that doesn’t change the fact that the Interwire Championship will eventually return to the Zaibatsu, and to me. I tasted your blood today. I smelled your fear. You knew what it was like finally to step into the ring with the greatest man alive today. You survived this time, but not on your own account. Remember that. I’m not going to beg for a rematch. I’m not going to march into an office and wave a magic wand to get another championship match. EAW does that shit enough already. All these people like Lars and Keelan and Chris Elite, who have had opportunities afforded them like no other. I’m going to work to gain this. And I want you to enjoy your reign. I want you to have many defenses. Because when we see each other in that ring, one on one, for the gold again? I’m going to make what happened tonight look like child’s play in comparison. Sorry for wrecking your celebration desk though. It’s not your style anyway. You’ll manage I’m sure.

[Randomly, Carlos points out one of the weaker, smaller members of EAW’s security staff.]

You, go get me something to drink better than that bullshit that was on the table. Go to catering, go to one of the alcohol booths in the arena, I don’t give a shit.

There was someone who chose to intervene in my match. I figured he would, but I didn’t think he would come out there and blatantly assist Moongoose in that fashion. Good on the referee for allowing the match to continue. However…I did lose my concentration. And Moongoose gets his tainted, cheap victory. I hope every punch, every kick hurt. Every bit of that Eraser Rain Special. If you think that is the full extent of my anger though, you’re wrong. I have been planning for months to capture the Interwire Championship. I had my plans set up to have the greatest championship fight of all time. 

That match will still happen, but you, you little brat, have ruined the prestige of the Interwire Championship. You have insulted me. And for that, you’re going to die. Maybe killing you with my bare hands is a bit too extreme, but I have a perfect fate in mind for you. I heard you had a match this week. I don’t know if you won or lost, I don’t care. But what I do know is that every day you travel to a Voltage show, every arena you go to, I go to. And every time I see you, I’m going to replicate what happened to you today. I’m going to stain my hands with your blood. I’m going to tear that stupid cosplay mask off your face. And I’m going to beat you within an inch of your life…only to watch you crawl away. Broken. Humiliated. Humbled.

As for the World Heavyweight Championship, who cares who won what match? Everyone knows that the person who should be next in line for a title shot is ME! [Carlos pulls off his gloves with Mao’s assistance and stands up, still talking to the press as he does so.]

People like you in the media say things like “Aren Mstislav has returned! Chris Elite and Lars Greer are next in line. Ahren has a match tonight!” WHO CARES!? WHAT IF THEY ALL GET FOOD POISONING OR SOMETHING!? YOU CAN KEEP YOUR RANKINGS AND YOUR RAG SHEET BULLSHIT, I KNOW WHERE I STAND, AND I STAND AT THE VERY TOP OF THE CONTENDERS LIST! PAIN FOR PRIDE, GRAND RAMPAGE, FIGHTING SPIRIT, IT DOESN’T MAKE A DIFFERENCE WHERE OR WHEN! I WILL BE THE LAST MAN STANDING, PERIOD!

[As Carlos angrily walks away with Mao behind him, the young security guard returns with a can of Diet Coke. Carlos takes one look at the can and slaps him across the face before shoving him on the ground and continuing towards his private locker room.]

There is something I want to get off my chest. In a sense, it has quite a bit to do with my opponent on Voltage this week, Carlos Rosso, but in a bigger and greater sense, it has to do with us all. I’m talking about old age. You know? That touchy issue that seems to strikes Carlos’ nerves and really rattle him. And I, approaching the big 3-0 later this year, I’m not too far behind from being the same age at Carlos, I mean, 2 decades can fly by soooo fast. But, I’m not worried. After all, you can’t stop the aging process, I mean, god knows, I’ve tried. But These are just the things you can’t stop. I mean, we all have to grow, and eventually, we all die, and that is the harsh reality of it all. But alas, why focus on your inevitable death and just focus on living your life as beautiful as you can.
 
Now I can wait here and see what Carlos has to say about my life… or his life, but I’m not going to stay up late at night to hear what he has to say. Life is too short for that, but I will instead talk about how the longevity of Moongoose McQueen has and always will be better than anything Carlos Rosso hopes to leave as a legacy, because when you do the math, I mean, I have no idea how many years Carlos has been doing this, but I’ve been wrestling for almost a decade. And the truth is this, unlike Carlos, I don’t make big plans. I don’t worry about too much about my reputation. I don’t even really concern myself too much about being the best. This long journey that is my career, has always been about me just going out there being me. Being petty, picking fights, and going out and to do what I do best, and create a unique experience that fans can only catch by watching me.
 
To say you want to be the best, that is so damn cliché. To say you are the best and go out to that ring believing it, you already skipped the most brutal part of your own self-journey to be the best you you can be. The difference between Carlos Rosso is simple. I already did what I wanted to do in my career when I won a world championship at the ripe age of 22. Granted, it’s only 2 world titles I’ve ever won, but when you hold that title, you learn 2 things. You don’t hold it forever, and it’s boring for people to come at you simply because you have it. I’ve come to terms that if people want to fight me, it’s because beating me would be a testament, a defining moment of their career, whether they win or lose, it’s meaningful. And I did what Carlos didn’t do, and is accomplish just that in less than 4 years into my wrestling career and became an established name. And even in two years alone in EAW, I’m kind of a big deal.
 
The point I’m trying to make is this. Carlos, you need to stop clutching on to straws. You need to let the reality sink in that your time has already past, and that your time may never come. You can’t plan for these sorts of things, and winning the EAW Interwire Championship would mean what to you? That you are going to be the stepping stone for the next guy that beats you? You aren’t seeing the big picture. You aren’t seeing me. What you need here, it’s not a championship belt. You need credibility, and if you beat me, you’re going to get that. But that’s a big if, you beat me. I asked for this situation of a one on one match, because the truth is, all this frustration I had with you, that was gone the moment I beat you at King of Elite. The Burden that was on my shoulders where the man, that kept taking advantage of me, I beat him. I beat my demons… my dark demons, and no, that isn’t a joke because of the color of your skin, but simply the color of your soul and possibly alcoholism. Because you stood by as absolutely everything I hated in a human being. You know, it’s not even funny to me, it’s just plain sad when I see a man like you going on and on about how you did this and that, and you deserve this, while shaking those chicken arms of yours in the air. And that’s just not aging gracefully at all. I mean, the wrinkles around your eyes clearly shows, but you’re doing more harm to yourself than you think. Like, at this point, I’m just mainly screwing with you. The boys, you know, in this line of business, I know they are going to get hurt. After all, boys will be boys, and in your case, the elderly will be the elderly as they pick on the younger generation. But it doesn’t have to be like that. It doesn’t have to be a tragedy, Carlos Rosso. You don’t need to be Micky Rourke.
 
This Sunday, on Voltage, this will probably be our final match. You don’t do it for me anymore, and I’m not going to keep falling for you coming out and demanding matches for titles. You know, I have other people in line, but rather, let this be a opportunity for you. A chance to go out dignified and respect, with grace. I’m not going to say go easy on me. I want you to go hard. DAMN HARD!! But what I’m saying, don’t be a total Grinch. Don’t be that guy that constantly needs helps or held up by others. Stand upon your own brittle feet and defiantly spit in the face of time by just being there. Don’t deny it, embrace it. Let it be the excuse you need to make when you don’t quite have it anymore. There is no shame in being old. It is not a crime unless she is under the age of 18 in certain states and countries. But that’s a whole another topic or address for another day. What matters is, this Sunday, I will fight you, and I’m going to beat you to an inch of your life, and I’m not afraid to pick on the elderly. Just as you can talk all about how it was unfair of guys like me to beat the Wild Boys due to their inexperience, I know, with confidence, at least, and you should take this as a compliment, that I will be kicking the ass of someone that has done so much. But once again, I’m better than you, because it won’t change the fact that the things you’ve done, all the time you’ve spent, and the amount of time and effort you need to plan for a future that may never come, I’ve done it in a shorter time, with less effort, and me in any EAW World title picture is inevitable. And you think in all of this, that I am the one hindering your plans, think again, bub. Because of you, my career had a very minor setback, and now, because I meant it, when I say it, I was done with you after King od Elite, I’m done with you. I don’t want any more to do with you. If you think beating me will be a part of your plan for your endgame, think again, Carlos, because I’m not some game piece that you can use. This isn’t a game, this is life. This is how it works. It’s survival of the fittest, no, survival of the sickest. And no matter, what, I will out class you in every single way. If you want to move on with your agenda, you choice the wrong guy to go to get to where you need to go. Because the only place I’ll be taking you to…. Is your own personal hell, because as of right now, you are wasting my time, my space, and my air.  
 

Make no mistake, I’m still the same Moongoose McQueen I once was. But now, I’m just having fun with it, because yes, I’m at that age where I can afford to do the things I want, where as you, you continue to cling on so desperately. Well, keep clinging, because you heard the old expression, from your cold dead hands…. And I’ll do it. Don’t let the boys, the cape, and sparkles fool you. There is still a real man behind it, and that is what you should prepare for.
