"Feeling better?"
Serenity's words entered my ears, as I walked into the kitchen. I made a beeline towards the freshly brewed pot coffee on the counter by the sink. I responded with a mumble which was Steph-speak for 'yeah'. She continued while I poured myself a cup 'o joe.
"You're relieved that you don't have fight Cailin huh?" She asked.
"Actually, I feel a little disappointed," I admitted after taking a sip. "I never fought Cailin in the ring before and I wanted to give her the rematch she rightfully deserves."
"You know how these multi-man title matches go. The fallout is always unpredictable."
"You ain't never lie" I said using my Aria impression.
Serenity laughed and looked at my phone.
"Oh my god. Cloudy I think you drunk accepted a match."
"Que?" I rested my chin on Serenity's shoulder and took a gander.
Stephanie Matsuda vs Aria Jaxon vs Chris Elite vs Mexican Samurai vs The Nas vs Eclipse Diemos...for a hundred twenty grand.
My eyes lit up like a privileged kid during the holidays. I used a finger to access the feed. I scrolled through the various challenges made and couldn't remember for the life of me when I answered the challenge.
"This is what drinking does to you Stephie" said Serenity. "It makes you do stupid things."
"But that money though."
"Did you call your girlfriend"
"Huh?"
"Whenever mom and dad would fight he went out drinking. This cold war between you and Cailin is triggering."
"Pfft." I rolled my eyes.
Serenity's eyes told a different story.
"I'm serious. Cai doesn't seem like the type to open up about her feelings and I can tell it's killing you on the inside. Normally I like seeing you fall on your face, but not like this."
I was taken aback by Serenity's sudden concern and honesty. We never always gotten along, but I could tell she came a long way since skipping school and partying with the wrong crowd. Angie says it's because I've taken a more proactive approach with the girls. She claims that Serenity looks up to me a lot more than she would admit. Connections like this was why I love what I do. Being the Specialist Champion will allow me to reach out to others and influence a generation of young girls. Would this be how I will defeat whatever darkness still resides in my heart? Only time would tell.

Monday nights make for strange bedfellows and this upcoming main event is no exception. Six people who you couldn't imagine being in the same room will be at each other's throats for a cool hundred and twenty K. The Blasian Barbie squares off against the Empress and King of Elite, The Spectacular One, The Kid, and The Millennium Mishap. No ladies and gentlemen this is not a Guy Ritchie or Tarantino film, this is EAW. This is my reality. Let's address the other members of the Sinister Six in order of the marquee shall we?
Aria Jaxon. My BFF. You and I go way back, longer than any Elitist or Vixen who crossed my path. You was in the audience for my first match on the west coast and I was there for your first baby steps into the industry. Now look at you, all growed up with a crown on your head. You're in your second run as the number one contender for the Vixens champ, and my personal pick to walk out of Triple Threat with a title around their waist. As I've previously stated, you are the future. You will sit on your throne with the crown and the belt and I will not hesitate to kneel before thee. But, now's not the time sweets. Now is my time to shine. Winning the Specialist Championship is a clear indicator that the Summer of Matsuda is here. Winning this cold hard cash brings me that much closer to earning a shot at a world title. For now though I shall play the role of gatekeeper, separating the newer vixens from the experienced ring generals. I love you and will do anything for you, but the Empress will have to take a L on this one. Followed by a trip to Dairy Queen of course.

This tryhard accomplished in her EAW rookie year something that still eludes your veteran gf: an actual title. Hell, she doesn't even have a verbal title like "Empress of Elite" or a trophy like the Vixens Cup. Ironic considering the two I just mentioned won accolades in their freshman year as well. (Sighs) Touche. I guess we're what's hot on the streets right now. One thing I can say about Cai and I is at least she doesn't need me to look up to her like some kind of savior.

Good question. What is Nas? Well Nas is like...hmm. What is Nas like? Nas is just another example of what's going to happen when a Vixen sends her man into the ring with me. Azumi, Alexis, and Haruna know this: If you want to take me on, be a real bitch like Aria and handle your own business. You say I didn't know I was going to be Specialist Champion Nas, and I'm inclined to agree with you. But, if there's one thing I know is that when the odds are truly stacked against me, I always come out on top. For Stephanie "Cloud" Matsuda the creed of "Eat, sleep, challenge, repeat" is one that I live by. For me it's always go hard or go home. Last week I went home after my tag match. I sat in the middle of my gym, thought about what I did wrong and re-evaluated myself. That's what champions do Nas. We don't come and go like you or Drastik. We throw ourselves back into the fire! We practice the art of The Fight until our bodies give out, until we find The Answer before our fists! What is your answer Nas- IT DOESN'T MATTER! Heh, always wanted to do that.
Eclipse Diemos. Ex-partner of my GF. You're probably playing close attention to my words...to the tone of my voice...to the glare in my eyes. When you look deeper you'll find...nothing. That's right Eclipse. You'll simply find nothing more than the shell of my darker days. What you will find is a flower...a War Queen in bloom. As the flower grows so will the War Queen's potential. I make no claim to be the best your majesty, but one day I will be. I'll be so strong that not even you're glorified D&D group will be able to stop my momentum.
Out of the six of us I'm the one who recently defeated eleven other hungry competitors. As far as I'm concerned this is just another specialty match the Specialist Champion will win.

I turned off the camera and sat back in my seat. Before I could unwind from my sleep, the sound of a familiar ring tone entered my ears.
I fumbled with my phone before answering the call.
"Hello?"

It was her. After weeks of not returning my calls and texts, she finally replied. I wanted to yell at her for making me feel like a fool as much as I wanted to apologize for being a dick.
