For example, reading a DEDEDE promo in Edge's voice or an Xavier Williams promo in Kevin Owens' voice.

I do, granted if I'm familiar with the voice.

Pretty hard with my actual picbase but I watched promos of Cade and I try to read them with a smooth voice.

Everyone has a voice in their writing. With every person I read their promos in a different voice based on the tonality that I pick up from their writing while also taking into consideration aspects of their character, similar to what Nas said about Tarah. 

I might read someone's promo in the voice of their picbase if I feel like their e-fed persona stays true to the picbase but most people put a lot of themselves into their characters and the picbase is just a vehicle to bring that character to life.

Nas hits the nail on the head. I'm an Indonesian...so Nobi won't have Nigel McGuinness' accents, lol.

But for the most part, yes, I do read the promos in the voice of the picbase. Sometimes, I like to open to youtube to my opponents' picbase voice if I'm not familiar with their pic bases, lol.

Actually, my mind has given all of you a distinctive voice regardless of the source of text I'm reading - either that be promo page, chat, etc etc.

I've heard a lot of you on mic before, and still, my mind chooses to read promos in a pre-set voice. It has something to do with personality, I feel. Basically when reading, I am naturally reading what my mind affiliates with your personality. I'm not sure I'm making sense with this, but when I read a Brian Daniels promo, I'm not doing so with his voice, or even Daniel Bryan's voice, but one my mind gave to a long time ago.

That also can be applied to my character in Lannister. I don't read through my promos with my own voice, or Cesaro's. Not sure of the reasoning, but I feel like it's a good thing. Definitely lets everything remain subjective, rather than affiliating a promoer to a wrestler I may not like, or like far too much.

I really encourage people to read my promos as Gilford Godfrey's voice.

I do others promos for sure, my own however ends up read in my own voice most of the time. Kind of weird now that I think about it.

I was actually just thinking about this not too long ago. Kind of like what Target said, it might depend on the picbase and if their gimmick/character is similar to their picbase. Or if their picbase has a distinctive voice like a CM Punk, AJ Styles, Kevin Owens etc. then yeah I automatically read it with their voice. Otherwise, I don't really put much thought into it and just read them in my head with a standard voice. As for my own promos, I do usually imagine Kyle O'Reilly saying it tho with his voice.

No. I always read promos in the same voice unless my opponent was someone I had known for a long time and developed a tone for their writing. Usually had nothing to do with the picbase.

Yes, and then I adjust the tone of the voice according to their personality, alignment etc.

I always read Y2Impacts segments in the Jericho voice. The rest, no.

I don't tend to read other people's promos with a set voice in mind.

As far as Ryan's go, she's supposed to sound French-Canadian. She's supposed to have a very thick acent, and English is her third language. So if words are missing, something sounds out of context that's why. I'm doing it on purpose, for the sake of conveying the accent.

Sometimes it depends on the people.
Like Aria I read promos in Aria's real voice.
Half the time I am making up voices for most characters too.

No, and if someone were to tell me that they read PB in Rockstar Spud's voice I would resent it considering PIZZA BOY ISN'T BRITISH!

I couldn't tell you the last time I looked at someone's picbase before reading their promo.  Usually it's the other way around, especially considering how many non-pic base avatars people usually have.  I usually read the promo and if it intrigues me about the character I'll check out their sign up sheet to get more details and see if they're going for what I think they're going for, and that usually means 6 times out of 10 that the picbase fit the look and tone of their character, but not that they're trying to be their picbase.

I get the whole book by it's cover mentality, especially when the character name comes directly from the picbase, but if anyone has been reading my promos for two years and doesn't get that PB isn't some cockney bloke, then I may be angry and will probably have to re-evaluate everything that I've ever said and done with the character before spiraling down into an existential crisis.

This thread would be better if someone just posts, and the person below them just answers what they think they sound like when they promo.
