It’s been nearly 24 hours since the conclusion of last night’s King of Elite, and after some serious deliberation, I felt it best to get this off my chest. I have always considered myself to be extremely competitive in almost everything that I do. Being this type of person often transforms me into a sore loser when things don’t actually go my way. Because of what happened last night, I did my best to bite my tongue, for better or worse, in order to avoid living up that reputation. However, I believe that by venting my frustrations publically, I can best maintain that professionalism as opposed to speaking privately with people on the board. This will hopefully keep me more accountable.
 
I put an extreme amount of effort in last week—more than I have into anything in my entire life. I planted the seeds, worked the room, said all the right things, and all that. I called in several times to Panera asking for reservations even though they insisted that they never take reservations. They assured me that Panera “never gets that busy” but I know how tough it can be to find a nice table on a Friday night, the night I had planned to take the lovely Aria to a different kind Slamtown. For those interested, yes, I got the table. I rented a goddamn three-piece suit. I even traded in my brand new Toyota Camry for fucking $800 to put toward a Subaru BRZ just to impress her. This was the first time in my life that I could have gotten my D wet potentially and I wasn’t going to take any shortcuts. Even though I thought I made all the proper preparations, I didn’t realize that there was something I couldn’t get that I needed before this Friday’s festivities: a win at King of Elite.
 
I think that all of you can understand that I am both frustrated and hurt by the outcome of last night’s main event. After all I put into this past week, I’m left with a car sitting in my garage that’s bound to put my insurance through the roof, a tuxedo that no one will ever see me in, and a table for two when I’m all by my lonesome. I understand that there is nothing that can be done to truly fix or amend this; what’s done is done.
 
I ask that EAW’s board apologizes to me for the heartbreak that it put me through as a result of last night’s King of Elite loss. And, more importantly, I extend my invitation once more to Aria Jaxon. I may not be a king, but I’ll treat you like a queen if you let me, baby girl.

Just keep at it. This is obviously a different time from the one that you were a part of back then, but taking accountability for your own actions is a huge step. So maybe in the future you may get further consideration in situations similar to KOE, and be given the benefit of the doubt. Good luck in the future.
