| Hey guys I know this might sound rather annoying but I actually posted my first EAW promo a while ago and would like to know if I can get some feedback on it? Just so I can fit into the EAW style a little better. |

| Can I give you a little suggestion? Maybe wait a few weeks after a couple more promos until you ask this question again, because I really don't get the point of asking for feedback after one promo. Everyone promos a little differently, and honestly creative advices probably aren't going to suit you. If you want to promo the EAW way, its really going to come down to consistency meaning how well you keep up with both your character and the show. Anyone can do one really good solid promo, but what's really hard is maintaining the same quality each week and improving and that's really what will probably get you rewarded in EAW. But you know, as I said, give it a few more weeks, and if you don't feel like you are fitting well, talk to your writer for advice and even mingle a bit in that compliment / Promo edition, thread. Heck, even come back to this thread, which by the way, put it on your topic watch, and then just bump it in a few weeks, rather than make a new thread.
Point is, you kind of need to learn to be able make better judgement for yourself. Know your character, develop it in promo, pay attention to your opponent and the show and properly respond to it, and if it doesn't seem like you are making any real progress and don't get why, then yes, ask. But the more you ask for feedback, the easier it is for you lose track of what you are trying to do when you ask for more opinions too often.Your gimmick is new and refreshing, and I don't think anyone is going to know more about it than you. And its important that you are simply playing a character you are comfortable with. If you are getting writer's block, then maybe its not the gimmick for you, but try it out a bit longer, give it a few more episodes and more promos and then evaluate where you can do better. I'm telling you, the best advice you are likely going to get from this point on is probably going to be.
1. Be consistent and promo each week. 1 a week is the min, but more practice, the better.
2. Quality over Quantity. If you are worried about the quality of your promo, once you are done, read it first, and possibly cut out anything that isn't relevent to your character's development or your opponent. Granted, I absolutely am not following this rule with my nonsense promos, but if you want to be taken seriously, I'd suggest you read your promo again after you write it and make edits. Clean it up.
3. Be original and creative, but be realistic and respectful. I want to say, anything goes in efeds, because you can be in almost any setting, but try to keep it humanly possible, but just don't break the rules where you use other people's characters (aka, other people's efed characters) without their permission. But you can always make up your own people to move the promo forward. But not every promo needs to be creative, funny, or whatever. Sometime, if an opponent promos back and you feel you have enough to say, ditch the scenario, and just reply back. Some of the best wrestling promos in the day where just the wrestler talking in front of the camera. Basically, there is a balance between character development and addressing your opponent. Some weeks is going to be just focusing on development, and other weeks, just talking about your opponent. I would advise using character development sparingly for weeks when you may not have an opponent or if they don't promo. You're going to have instances where people won't promo back. It happens, people get busy, but its no excuse for you to not promo when you can.
Point is, consistency is going to be the biggest factor in EAW, and that isn't enough from one promo. Heck, its not even enough if you promo 5 promos in one week. It takes months to really see what potential someone has.Point is, I feel like people will need to see how well you do after a show, against better promoers, and etc and can really tell you what you need to do.
Now if you really wanted advice after the first promo, I'd highly recommend you try to respond back to Ryan's promo from a few days ago, and really try to address the things he said about you. He pretty much already said what almost everyone is going to say about your gimmick, so how you retaliate to that will be good practice in the future. Don't think about character development. Just focus on how would Mortimer respond. Its all character development anyway, and here is a guy questioning everything your character believes in. Now tell him why he is frickin wrong and why you are going to give him a good ole fashion rough housing. You have til tomorrow to promo. If you lose, don't fret, Ryan's promo was really solid. But take the opportunity to get better. |

| Oh this wasn't asking for feedback on the content, but thanks for the advice anyway. The purpose of this was to gauge how it feel within the forum's guidelines since every forum is different. |
