I'm not sure what's shocking or surprising about these rules. Besides a few like the "don't say choke" or "don't say hatred," they all seem like common sense things you would think wouldn't be allowed in a professional environment, especially on national television. I felt like I was reading a syllabus on writing an essay, not rules for being a WWE announcer. Like I said, I don't get why this is a surprising revelation.

And this is why Mick Foley left.  Vince spent half of smackdown screaming off this doctrine in his one good ear.

These are hilarious. I've read them at least three times now. I studied broadcasting in college and this stuff is just gold. It all makes sense now, too

The rules are nothing special.  It's all pretty basic.  And the "choke" and "hatred" ban makes sense considering the move to the PG era of the WWE.  These rules all make sense.  They are, for the most part, a good guideline on how the WWE wants their announcement team to function.  In practice, I don't think they meet the expectations laid out in the rules, but that might have to do with Vince McMahon yelling in their ears for 3 hours straight or so.

Some of them like saying "medical center" instead of hospital just seem a bit ridiculous. 

In short, it's a good plan but sometimes it goes to the extreme.

Lol at how Swagger was used so much world title mention wise lol, VKM must have been a huge fan at one point.

Don't get the thing about feud, wrestling, international, fans and hatred???

I swear if "hatred" is some term that is now anti pc I'm going to go crazy and start using the term hate whenever possible.

I agreed with a lot more of these then I was expecting. Still a lot of them are ridiculous.

I actually like these and I think EAW writers should follow these rules. I still think a few of them are incredibly stupid and utterly spiteful to Jim Ross; not to mention some of these are flatout stifling to the creativity. I do like the sense of professionalism though.

Most of these are actually fairly reasonable, but the ban on the use of terms like "hatred" and "granddaddy of 'em all" is dumb. WrestleMania's history should be a part of its appeal.

Just more proof of how Vince lost his touch.

They say medical center instead of hospital so fans don't go looking at the local hospital.
