Profile: Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ryan Mastif grew up a fan of professional wrestling, more-so the masked characters. He was enthralled with the likes of Kane, Mankind and Vader because the mask, to him, signified mystery. When Mankind and Vader unmasked, they became mortal men--- Ryan did not like that one bit. Kane was the only one who remained mysterious, until that fateful night in 2003 when he unmasked as well. Fifteen years old at the time, Ryan was determined to become a professional wrestler, but he wanted to dawn a mask of his own. He wanted to be an enigma; he wanted people to wonder who was behind the mask. He trained under the likes of Lance Storm at his school in Calgary (dramatic pause) Alberta, Canada where he made his professional debut at age 18 in 2006. Dawning the name "Ecks" (pronounced like the letter 'X'), he quickly rose from obscurity to predominance, gaining a cult-like following from his fans. No one (besides his family and friends) have seen what he looks like underneath the mask. He is so into his character and his mystique that he wears the mask everywhere he cane when he is in town for a show, that way it shows how deep he is with his character. Ecks has a plethora of moves that he uses in his arsenal, most of which are technical masterpieces that he learned from his time training under Lance Storm. He also incorporates innovative moves that he picked up from the guys in the independent circuit.

The fans love his mystique and his moveset. He is more than just a man in a mask with a few fancy moves; he also is very entertaining with a microphone and in front of a camera. Bursting with personality, he is not like your typical masked wrestler. Ditching the cliche of the dark persona, he is known for his cocky attitude, jokes and just being a normal guy. He is more than just a gimmick--- he is the real deal.
