Gimmick: Logan Black was born Logan Beaumont, a talented teenager raised within a wrestling dynasty that stretches back over several generations; back to the very beginnings of the sport itself. Like his brothers, Wade and Darryl, Logan was raised to be the pinnacle of competition. With little time allowed to mix with the outside world, Logan’s life was dominated by the looming presence of his father, Earl, a troubled, draconian figure, plagued by his own set of generational demons that would cast a menacing, sometimes, violent cloud over his marriage and his children.

Three years ago, gunshots rang out over the rural Black compound. Earl had seemingly taken the lives of his brothers, their wives, and his wife, before turning a twelve gage shotgun on himself. Logan was found later by police in a catatonic state. The only sibling on the compound at the time, Logan’s clothing was splattered with the family’s blood. In deep shock and unable to remember the events that lead to the tragedy, Logan became a living mystery, a loose end found beneath the violent canopy of an Illinois thunderstorm.

It would take two years for Logan to find his way back into a wrestling ring, now a young man bouncing from mental institution to institution, Logan seemed lost within the system, until indy filmmaker Janice Cane and her therapist sister Tara came across the Black case. The opportunistic siblings saw a chance to develop a hit show, seeking out Logan who was eventually discovered held up inside a Mexican Asylum. Over the next twelve months they began a healing process that brought Logan back into the light, with Tara using professional wrestling as a means of rehabilitation, becoming Logan’s manager and actively participating inside the ring when necessary. Now one full year into their documentation of Logan’s recovery, Janice and Tara have decided that Logan should step up into the big time, their Netflix documentary series "Blackheart" has been recommissioned for a second season; now with the stakes considerably raised as the mystery continues to unfold.

RINGSIDE INFORMATION
Theme Music: 'Breed' by Hyper.

Entrance: ‘FADE...TO...BLACK!’ A deep, robotic voice blasts the announcement out over the P.A. system as the arena is plunged into darkness. A beat passes before a spotlight on the stage reveals Logan Black, arms folded over his chest strapped into a straitjacket. Logan’s manager, Tara Cane (svelte frame draped in a skintight white catsuit with a red cross motif) runs her black nailed hand over Logan’s chest, ripping away the jacket as she unleashes her patient for battle. Logan charges forward as the relentless strings of 'Breed' by Hyper syncopates with the action, Tara following close behind as they march towards the ring. Logan approaches the ropes and leaps, ‘skinning the cat’ as he enters the ring, slumping nonchalantly in his corner as he waves his opponent on.

MOTIVATIONS:
Logan yearns to regain a sense of self, to discover the truth about his family, about what happened that night of the massacre; to fill in the gaps of his shattered memory and finally discover peace. Or to face the monster within, and understand what kind of evil he truly is. Right now Logan is at a crossroads, unaware of which direction his life will take. Good or evil? Man, or devil?
