King/Queen: The king/queen doesn’t exactly HAVE to be your character. When voted up, you can have any of your house members become king/queen. The king/queen also has the opportunity to request any character to become hand of the king/queen, but people are able to decline this offer if they choose. They run the seven kingdoms, and Westeros as a whole, excluding independent lands. (Essos is currently RESTRICTED from playing in)

Lord: When signing up, you will officially be given the title “Lord” of whatever seat of power you choose. This is usually given to the eldest family member.

Lord Paramount: "Lord Paramount" is a title in the Seven Kingdoms, created during the Targaryen Conquest three centuries before the War of the Five Kings. It is a hereditary title bestowed upon a major noble House charged with ruling one of the unified Seven Kingdoms, under the overall rule of the Iron Throne.

Warden: Warden is a title bestowed upon the head of a Great House by the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. The Wardens command the armies of one of the constituent regions of the Seven Kingdoms in the name of Iron Throne for the defense of the entire realm. Thus any one Warden is expected to lawfully command a quarter of all armies in the realm during a time of crisis. By custom, the title is functionally hereditary. However, a Warden does not necessarily have to also be one of the Lords Paramount (rulers of the constituent regions of the realm) though this is almost always the case. For example, if an elderly or infirm ruler came to be the head of House Lannister, the office of Warden might be delegated to another family member young and capable enough to lead armies in the field.

Declaring war: You must have a legitimate reasoning to declare war. There either needs to be a claim on land, bloody vengeance, independence. You must not have an alliance with the person you declare war on.

Losing a war: Your character will be imprisoned, along with your family if there’s a successful siege on landed castle. This can be also prevented by putting characters into hiding. The winner will decide your punishment, and can replace your seat of power if just. They have the rights to also revoke land from your characters, and replace it with any given character at the time.

Punishments: There are several punishments that are granted to the winner of a war, depending on the situation. You can execute, imprison for an indefinite period of time, banish to the Night’s Watch, or if it’s a child, exile to another land, you can take them hostage (ie; Theon Greyjoy to the Starks), or have them walk naked through the streets back to their cell, or if you decide to free them; their home.

Independence: If you’re granted independence, or if you win your independence. Your kingdom becomes separate from the Iron Throne. However, at any given time, the Iron Throne can declare war to regain their land, but must wait a period of time before doing so. You will rule your kingdom, as the king/queen would rule the Iron Throne.

Heirs: In the chance that the Lord dies, the heir will take his place, and so forth. If the king/queen decides to execute the current lord, the heir takes their place. And the heir has the right to declare war if the king/queen wishes to revoke their titles and lands.

Regent: If the current lord is under the age of 15, there must be a regent to guide him or her in his place. (ie; Cersei playing regent for Joffrey and Tommen) There also must be a regent in your place if you decide to leave your land. (ie; becoming Hand of the King)

Death: Death can and WILL happen, it’s in the world of Game of Thrones. You can only be potentially revived through Faith of R'hllor, Red Priestess, but can often times require a sacrifice. Unless through an execution, loss of war, natural death, or plots, death must be agreed upon the parties involved.

Alliances: Alliances are only made through betrothals. You can end an alliance at anytime, but unless maternal, if it is your daughter you used for the betrothal; they remain in the court of your former alliance, until said divorce happens. These alliances need to be cosigned through the comments.

Divorces: Both parties of the divorce must agree to it, before they are able to divorce. The divorces must be cosigned through the comments.

Plots: In this, you have the ability to plot to kidnap or even kill someone. You can invite anyone to support your plot, but they have the ability to betray the plot. The plot will only follow through if the support for it is strong enough. Plots must be private messaged to me, with the list of supporters, and any new supporters incoming. If a person ever wishes to stop supporting the plot, they must also private message me that. (ie; Red Wedding, Purple Wedding, etc.)

War: This will be decided upon the power of your house, and through the alliances you make throughout time. It will also be moderated by a select three chosen people, to debate on which side has the greater advantage, and who officially won the war. There will also be a future system to where I will figure out a number system to how big your armies are. Any houses that support the war can be punished by the winner. You must officially declare war through the comments.

Call Into Arms: The said person has the ability to call their allies into war, but their allies are able to decline the war invite. This must be done through the comments.

Interaction: This is where I’m going to be adding my own twist to TLA’s former forum topic. I want the people who sign up to have the ability to write their own scenes within their house. This is almost considered as a “promo”, but instead you’re storytelling with your own characters, and creating scenes. You can also interact and plan scenes with other people, but you cannot take control of anyone else’s characters. All the scenes will be required to be posted on this topic in the comments section. This allows you character development, and to keep yourself interested as long as this stays alive.

Direwolves and Dragons: These are very rare and powerful creatures, some that have been considered to gone extinct. There will be a time where I’ll distribute out dragons especially. I’m more lenient on direwolves, and them being distributed to northern men. For those in the north, if you wish to have a direwolf, please contact me first before giving it to any of your family members.

House Description: House Kahne over thousand of years, has reigned supreme over the Westerlands as Lord Paramounts. Only forming allies where Lukas Kahne feels suited to. As he's prolonged the arranged marriage of his children - he's finally decided that it's time to marry them off. But to only other houses that he deems fit powerful enough. The Westerlands are full of gold mines, to the point where House Kahne has become the richest house in all of the seven kingdoms. Over the past two decades, House Kahne has become one of the most feared houses - having ended five family lines in the matter of that time. Who's futile attempts to overtake the Westerlands had only granted them death. They're not afraid to play the game of thrones and they'll do whatever they deem necessary to attain victory.

Lukas Kahne: Lord of Casterly Rock, 57

A man who is in the twilight of his life, but not in his means of relevancy - has a part to play in the war to come. A man whose reputation that can only be summed up with the word "Ruthless" - plays second place to no one. Lukas has yet to marry off his children, even though they are all well into their 20's, and his heir's case: 30's. One has to wonder why Lukas, a man who has always been about dynasty and prolonging the family name, has yet to arrange a marriage for his children. But one might be able to ponder a guess is that Lukas is waiting for the RIGHT marriage, in terms of political stature and backing. He has killed off many family lines, any who has tried to withstand the Lion's wrath of Kahne. One has to wonder what House Kahne is capable of with an ally or two in their back pocket.

Ashur Kane: Heir of Casterly Rock, eldest son of Lukas Kahne, 31 (Myself)

Is considered by many the best duelist in the seven kingdoms. He is said to be credited with over 300 kills, doing the majority of his father's work on the battlefield. House Kahne has had many rivals, due to their house nature and ruthless aggression - but Ashur is someone's worst sight in the art of war. He has been nicknamed "The Mourning Star" due to the amount of widows he has created. Even though his legend is associated with fear, anybody in Casterly Rock who knows him knows he's completely devoted and kind to his family. He will continue to protect his family... even if his honor has to suffer the consequences. It is about time that he marries, even if he is reluctant to a match. He's in possession of "Brightroar" a Valyrian steel sword.

Landon Kahne: Master of Coin, youngest son of Lukas Kahne, 25

The only born dwarf to the Kahne name, considered a masterful scholar to make up for the physique he lacks. He's become one of the greater diplomats known to all of Westeros, by traveling the world at such a young age. Due to his father's cruel disliking toward him. Being quite the dipomat that he is, but also a man of peace to the House of Kahne, otherwise other major houses of the realm would end the genocide that Lukas has been partaking in. His father had developed the hatred for Landon when Landon came home with a bastard child, age of three. Lukas always saw the child of the name Gunmar; as a disgrace to the family name, thus treating Landon as he would the child. Lukas, however, does intend to ship the baby off to other lands once he finds a marriage pact for Landon Kahne. So, that the "disgrace in his eyes" will never surface the seven realms, to only stay a secret. Landon has kept the identity of the mother a secret, in fears that Lukas will kill the mother. But throughout time, Landon aspires to prove his worth to his father, by all means - even if it takes leaving Casterly Rock forever.

Cassie Kahne: Daughter of Lukas Kahne, 28

Quite possibly the most spoiled of all the Kahne children, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Lukas had always granted Cassie with all sorts of riches and luxuries, whatever she desired - Lukas and her mother would grant such requests within a blink of an eye. But once the greatest tragedy of her life occurred; her mother's death. She took it the hardest, only being the age of sixteen - Cassie grew depressed over the years, but with times old wounds healed. She's grown into a woman, who's reverted to only spoiling herself. There's no other greater need to be queen, her only desire to marry whomever is king.

House Description: A house that has been raised up from a history of violence and brutality, the years have not been kind to house Ragnas. Their position as the holders of the smallest of the Five, lends to them being a bit more sharp witted and cold tempered. Their minds are as sharp as their blades, and they always seem ready to use them at a moments notice, though they do tend to put on more of an act than they will actually allow. Ragnas prides itself on the family that has bred strong warriors and equally brilliant tacticians in the realm of courtly intrigue. Their access to trade has also brought with them a thirst for gossip of the other lands, though this comes as more of an idle curiosity for the "Blood-Soaked Nobles" than it does for ideas of rule or power.

Lord Aneon Ragnas - 46 (My Character)

Aneon is unclear of just what he is to be doing as the Lord of White Harbor and of his family. Born and bred for combat, the "War Bird" has since found himself at the scene of a battle he did not believe he would be taking part in, a battle of ambition. His family, his lifeblood, are all that matters in his mind, and to preserve the life he has secured for them he has chosen to let his sword and ax dull in favor of the sharpening of the pen and of his tongue. Though uncomfortable in the world of political machinations, he simply views it all as another war, and he does not lose wars.

Venturis Ragnas - Brother of Aneon and Heir Apparent (41) The Ragnas clan has never held to the idea of the first born child taking the place of the elder. Instead, it was decided that those worthy of the title should be given that place. And though Aneon has both a son and a daughter, there is no better man to hold the seat of Lord if Aneon dies, than his brother Venturis. Holding much more political tact and firm sway than his elder brother, Venturis does what his brother can't. That is to say, take his mind away from the home that he calls the Battlefield and place it into the realm of courtly intrigues. Still, he is the War Wolf of White Harbor, and just like his brother, was bred for combat. Underestimating the wolf, gets you the fangs.

Kalsivo Ragnas - Master of Trade and "brother" to Aneon (Age Unknown)

"A Spider lives so it can catch flies" Aneon enjoys saying, when it comes to talking of his brother Kalsivo. Kalsivo acts so much unlike a Ragnas that it often times bring up ideas of adoption or at worst courtly intrigue. Kalsivo however, is loyal. If not to the Ragnas family, than at least to Aneon who he whispers into his ear the news of finance and of the trade disputes that exist within White Harbor. This also means that Kalsivo has his hand on every coin that comes with trade. Spiders catch flies, and Kalsivo has a very large web.

Hlif Ragnas - Daughter of Aneon (26)

Heirs don't exist in the world of the Ragnas family. Heirs is a title that means that people are born into their station. For the Ragnas, stations were earned. Hlif seems to be very comfortable with the fact that she has yet been seen as someone not deserving of the title of Lord, and has instead focused on helping to train soldiers and guardsmen when necessary. The Fledgling Falcon of warfare, trained to be a combatant in the womb. Hlif does have a disadvantage however. Often times the question of her gender inc combat rears the ugly head of the Ragnas worst secret. Rage is something that gives way to bloody rampages, and Hlif is still inexperienced at controlling her very volatile temper.

House Description: House Crimson was a shell of its former self for the longest time and it seemed like it would never recover. Once the most feared house in all of the Stormlands for how unforgiving they were and their brutal methods of torture, it started to allow vassals to rule their lands almost autonomously and became lenient on their fiefs taxes. The Maesters of Oldtown can pinpoint the house's fall to the reign of Lord Paramount Terrence Crimson of the Stormlands, known better among the peasants as Terrence “the King's Fool”. The Lord, more known in his childhood for being the butt of jokes rather than any sign of possessing leadership qualities, was taken advantage of the moment he entered the castle of Storm's End to rule as it was known to everybody, including his own father who had no other male heirs to press their claim, that he was too trusting and gullible to make a great Lord. The Former King of the Iron Throne took advantage of this and made him an advisor on the council despite never listening to his advice and had him enforce several laws in the Stormlands which extracted additional coin from the peasants, all so that the King could be able to pay off his debts to the Iron Bank of Braavos. Some argue that the weak Lord became so stressed from the thought of rebellion that he went to sleep and never woke up, others shout in the taverns that one of his children poisoned their own father with the Tears of Lys, but all are aware that a Civil War comes close to happening as the Lord of Storm's End returns from the Free Cities of Essos a zealous man with five mysterious priests making him the center of a foreign religion, but not fast enough as his younger brother and the former regent of Storm’s End begins to realize that he has what it takes to unite the Stormlands and rule in a just manner.

 Steffon Crimson: Lord of Storm's End, 50

Steffon Crimson grew up taunted and harassed by the sons and daughters of the townspeople as it was perceived nothing would be done due to his father never showing a ruthless side. It wasn't until the boy grew to be an adult and had the perpetrators spend their final days trapped in his dark dungeon never to be seen again did the townsfolk begin to realize he was more like the Crimson Lords of the past rather than his own Father. It was joked that while he didn’t trust most with the exception of his brother Lyonel, he always followed the wishes of his wife Eleanor Crimson, the mysterious daughter of a Lynesi noble. Many men on his council took note that while Steffon was an ambitious man, none of his plans to bring stability to his realm came into fruition. Three years ago shortly after the death of his wife, Steffon named his brother regent of Storm’s End in order to travel each of the Free Cities in order to gain more power for his house, hoping to forge alliances by giving troops and promises of land and political power to magisters in exchange for coin in what should have taken half a year. After returning, little is still known on who are the mysterious red priests Steffon surrounds himself with and why they prefer to call him by the name of Azor Ahai. What is known to his vassals is that the days of him letting them run their land like kings are over as whatever rebellion they may conjure up will be swiftly put down by his Essosi army. Does Steffon want to just rule the Stormlands with an iron fist or take the Iron Throne for himself? House Crimson is back to being feared.
  

Lyonel Crimson: Designated Regent of Storm's End, 45

Lyonel Crimson was born with a silver tongue unlike his father, but more importantly is one of the few people in House Crimson to not get just the respect of the Stormlands like his older brother, but also their love and loyalty due to his regency which showed that the house can prosper not under an unforgiving lord who would chop off a man’s head for a simple mistake like Steffon and his ancestors, or a jovial fool like his father, but a just lord who not only knows the commonfolk who serves him, but fights for their rights. His reign as regent lasted longer than expected, but rather than declare Steffon dead and make Alister Lord, he insisted that Steffon was still alive, not making it known to anyone that he was getting letters from a sellsword that Steffon was very much alive, but now resembled more of a deity than a man, with strange sacrifices happening daily. Steffon now returns, but will Lyonel find it within him to betray him, prevent the religion of R'hllor from spreading, and lead House Crimson into a new golden age?

Ser Boron Crimson: Member of the Kingsguard, 24

The oldest child of Lyonel Crimson and the youngest member of the Kingsguard. When he was a child, Boron would often visit King’s Landing with his father and uncle and while the majestic capital of the King would excite most boys, Boron never cared until he got the chance to watch a tourney featuring warriors from all the seven kingdoms. There he saw a monstrous man almost 9 feet tall and paraded around as undefeated, go down to a nameless warrior wearing black armor and carrying a Valyrian sword. While Boron never found the man that conquered that beast, he did find his passion for fighting that day and became one of the greatest fighters House Crimson has ever produced. While he may be seen as a kind man who often laughs like his father, Boron is ultimately arbitrary and is seen by the nobles of King's Landing as the ideal member of the Kingsguard due to his loyalty and willingness to be the right hand of the King.

Alister Crimson: Heir of Storm's End, 17

Alister Crimson is the only son of Steffon and is thus the heir of Storm’s End. Many wonder if he molds himself like his father and obeys his every command out of respect and adornment or because he fears his wrath if he disobeys his father’s orders. Since the young age of seven, Alister has been trained for combat and shows great aptitude in swordsmanship at the age of 17. Knights who visited Storm’s End often tell stories in inns that he could eventually surpass Boron, the only problem is that Alister shows no other desirable traits and is reluctant to educate himself in court. He is slothful and makes it known to everyone that he is hedonistic, preferring to spend his time in the castle of Storm’s End enjoying the privileges that come with being of nobility rather than learn the many other things he would need to know if he wishes to have his name sung in songs.

Clarice Crimson: Daughter of Steffon Crimson, 14

The only daughter of Steffon and his youngest child. Just like her brother, she resembles more of her mother than her father, inheriting her golden hair. While certainly not having as much knowledge as the Maester who serves Storm’s End, Clarice Crimson is a bright, but timid child who spends her time studying the ancient history of Westeros. She started at the age of 10 when she snuck into the Maester’s room and found a wide array of books scattered around the small room. There she spent hours reading tales of dragons, empires created thousands of years ago which seemed to be more advanced than any kingdom today and the story of a legendary figure who wielded a sword just as hot as dragon fire and saved the world from the Other’s touch. Now her Father comes back seemingly the prophesied hero, but will she follow him or does something from the books she’s always reading warn her not to?

The bastard son of Lord Midas, Rylon grew up as the son of a single wench in the tavern. He was forced to watch a young Robb have his hand cut from his arm when he was only 19 and his since formed a relatively close bond with his half-brother, believing that what happened was wrong despite Robb's intentions. He has always been the most humble of the family due to his lack of wealth and has also grown a good relationship with his father, surprisingly believing that he is right not to rebel against the crown and believes that Pyke is at the best it has ever been. This has often put him at odds with Garrick over the future of the Iron Isles and he is the only member of the family of whom he isn't fond of. The two often butt heads over the simplest of things and make their dislike for each other extremely clear. Despite being a bastard he loves his new family very much and wants to continue bonding with his father.

Perhaps the first known Dothraki khal to cross the narrow sea in centuries, Arrokko has shown more ambition than most of his kind since birth. His early life was spent defeating rival khalasars until his was among the largest and most powerful in all the Dothraki Sea. However, conquering his homeland was not enough to satisfy Arrokko and when he had the chance to conquer and invade the lands of Rhaesh Andahli as the Dothraki call Westeros he took the opportunity. Kidnapping a powerful lord's widow and forcing her to take his entire khalasar across the narrow sea he has found a new home in the mighty castle of Highgarden. Arrokko as with many of his khalasar is unaccustomed to the ways of the Seven Kingdoms, and speaks only Dothraki, allowing his khaleesi to do most of his talking for him.

 

A scheming bastard widow of the former Lord of Highgarden, the commoners of the Reach hold little love for Lady Flowers. Many accuse her of poisoning her lord husband to take control of Highgarden despite having no birthright or claim to the land. What's worse... is she also married a Dothraki savage and brought his people onto Westeros where they rape and pillage from one village to the next! "Oh well." the Lady Flowers replied at a recent court appearance in King's Landing. "The people will always be hungry". And like so, Lady Flowers shut down all complaints of the numerous lords and ladies who rely on her lands for food.

Trystel Fields has been waiting for his parents to die for 60 years with little luck. Trystel always wanted to be a knight, but never had the skill like his younger brother. Unfortunately, according to his mother he never had the skill for much else. Never married, Trystel always seemed more at home at feasts than in brothels. When his father, Lord Trystane Fields died, he finally believed he would be named Lord of Highgarden but unfortunately, due to his mother's schemes and the damned Dothraki savages she brought home, he was unable to maintain control. When Arrokko showed up outside the gates of Highgarden having ridden up the Mander on the great House Fields warship, Trystel surrendered immediately in an act of cowardice that has earned him great mockery among the other lords and ladies at court. Today, Lord Trystel is Lord in name only as Arrokko claims the title of khal as superior to that of Lord.

The second eldest living son of Lady Margaei and the late Lord Trystane Fields, Ser Maize is considered among the most eligible bachelors of the Seven Kingdoms. Known as the Knight of the Gardens, he is undefeated in tourneys and has the ego to match. He has a strained relationship with his jealous older brother and during Trystel's brief reign as Lord of Highgarden, many of the commoners supported Ser Maize as lord instead. Ser Maize's popularity has given rise to numerous rumors and slanders such as that he prefers to lie with men and that his tournaments have been rigged on his behalf. He has denied these claims as falsehoods thrown out by the jealous.

Marei Fields is the youngest living child of Lord Trystane Fields and Lady Margaei flowers. Little is known about her aside from her great beauty and love for the smallfolk of the Reach. Frequently making appearances on behalf of her house alongside her brother Ser Maize she is well-loved by her people. Many find it unbelievable she has not yet been wed to some high lord or perhaps even a king. In truth, Marei is her mother's protege and has learned to scheme and manipulate with the best of them.

His name literally meaning "beginner" in Dothraki, Navvo is the only living son of Khal Arrokko, but despite this is considered by him to be his weakest. Navvo has had to cut his hair numerous times for the many fights he has lost. Navvo also believes his father weak and a traitor for leaving the Dothraki Sea for Westeros but as of yet has done nothing about it prompting further scorn and mockery from his people.

The only living daughter of Khal Arrokko, Mhysa has come to love the Seven Kingdoms but not necessarily the way a lady of the Seven Kingdoms should behave. She frequently comes into conflict with her father and his supporters for her rebellious attitude and promiscuous ways. Seemingly unintelligent and carefree, Mhysa may in fact be the most intelligent member of her family, using her body and looks to get whatever she wants.

(These words are meant to convey a threat to all enemies.  It is a vow to any who might harm or betray their House that retribution will come swiftly before they even know what happened.  It is also a promise that they will act in the best interests of their House, and they will act quickly before anyone can stop them.)

This is a rarity on the world of Westoros, for it is one of a few Valryian steel spears.  It’s name is both a remark on how valued it is to the House, as if it were another son, and how much blood it has bathed in over the years.

HOUSE DESCRIPTION:  

House Serpe has a unique and bloody history.  Born hundreds of years ago between a union of a between Vahala Serpe of Dorne and Lance Wyatt of The Reach, the House soon was met with internal struggle over which traditions to practice, that of Dorne or The Reach.  For decades there were family feuds, until finally a full civil war broke out.  The war began when Lady Wyatt broke away from her husband to declare herself Lord of Oldtown, reverting back to the name Serpe in the process.  She adopted a Snake as her sigil while her husband took a Rose for his.  History remembers this war as “The War of the Rose and the Snake.”  The Dornish faction of the House ultimately won, but not without spilling a lot of its own family blood.  In the end the Serpe name became dominant and the House adopted the sigil and words it currently holds.  The original sigil and words are lost to time.  Ever since then, they have considered themselves more of a Dornish family, despite residing with dominion of The Reach.  The family has done everything it can to rebuild its numbers so as to remain strong since the war’s end.  Over the years it has rebuilt itself with several alliances and marriages, each Lord doing their own part to wash away the stain of that bloody conflict.  As Lords of Oldtown, where The Citadel resides, they often regard themselves as keepers of knowledge and as the smartest House in the whole of the Seven Kingdoms.

Lord of House Serpe, Damon has the reputation for being quite the diplomat.  Having had to keep a measure of peace with other Southern Lords, who do not always take kindly to certain Dornish ways, Damon has learned how to mediate with easy charm and smooth grace.  He is observant and notices even the smallest of details other men might miss.  He was once a great warrior, but has since left the battlefield to younger men, focusing more on politics.  But that does not mean he is incapable of fighting, and will take up the spear if called to do so.  He is well respected by many men, but he has several hidden agendas.  To those who know him best (i.e. his family and inner most circle) he shows a much more cunning side as a man who schemes and plots with the best of them, having a distinct lack of mercy or pity for his enemies or prey.  Secretly he styles himself “Prince” in the typical Dornish fashion.  What could his goals be for his House and their role within the Kingdom?

The wife of Damon Serpe, Elsa is what many have referred to as being…very Dornish.  Coming from a lesser Dornish House, she has never really quite taken to the ways of The Reach, flaunting her different customs blatantly and with little shame, holding onto them stronger than anyone else in the Serpe household.  As such she is viewed on equal grounds with her husband and she is a key advisor in Damon’s council, offering her advice on many key subjects.  Probably her best role within the family is with coin.  She owns a string of brothels throughout Dorne and The Reach, making the family very wealthy.  Some even whisper that she frequents them, disguising herself as a common whore to enjoy the company of other men.  This rumor has led many to call her “The Snake Charmer” behind her back, for her methods of charming the snake in a man’s pants.  Many men (and a few women) claim to have slept with her, but there is little proof to these rumors, mostly because most who brag about it once often times never get the chance to do so a second time.

The oldest brother of Damon Serpe, Aeron decided to become a Maester when it became obvious he would never become Lord of Oldtown.  Yet due to his family connections, The Citadel made history when it assigned him as Maester to his own ancestral House, something that has never been done before or since.  Having access to Oldtown’s vast library, he is naturally very intelligent in a variety of subjects, and has even studied the higher mysteries (i.e. magic).  Yet he seeks ever more knowledge and has a sincere ambition to one day be named Grand Maester.

The oldest son of Damon and Elsa Serpe, he is the heir to the Lordship of Oldtown.  A gifted spearman, he is the leader of the Serpe armies and wields the family spear Red Son.  A naturally leader who inspires fierce loyalty in men, he is usually calm and cunning, yet he has also been known to be quick to anger and to sometimes act rashly.  As such, there are a few within court who feel he is not well suited to be heir to his father’s seat.  He is also a smooth ladies man, supposedly having several female admirers throughout the kingdom.

The second son of Damon and Elsa, Rohar is a born adventurer.  Never content to sit still in one place for too long, Rohar does a great deal of traveling, competing in tournaments, drinking, and whoring.  He gets bored easily and isn’t quite sure what he wants to do with his life.  He has entertained many thoughts about being a squire, joining the King’s Guard, the City Watch, the Night’s Watch, becoming a Maester, traveling to Essos, and even thought about joining a mummer’s show briefly.  As a traveler he acts as his father’s eyes and ears on the road, writing back to his family with whatever gossip, news, or rumors he comes by that might benefit his family.      

Dirron Serpe (Third Son)

Youngest of the Serpe sons, Dirron acts as squire to his elder brother Dorin, whom he worships.  He trains and studies hard everyday in hopes of one day being like his brother.  There are some who even say he has surpassed his elder.  Almost as good with a spear, despite his age, he also seems to have a better mind for strategy and a calmer disposition.  Because of this, many think Damon should name Dirron as his heir, finding Dorin too rash and Rohar too nonchalant.  This has created a small bit of bitterness between Rohar and Dirron, but not Dorin who simply laughs when he hears any of this.  Dirron becomes slightly uncomfortable whenever this topic is brought up, mostly because he loves his brother, but maybe also because he doesn’t secretly dream of it coming to pass.

The eldest daughter of the family, Astris is the image of Southern nobility.  Beautiful, courteous, kind, and gentle, she is the child Lord Damon makes sure to bring with him to ALL events and gatherings he attends.  As such she has more knowledge than most girls about politics.  It is clear to her however that she is merely being used by her family as a symbol to appease other Southern Lords.  But she’s ok with that, as she is willing to do her duty for her House, which of course also means marriage to whomever her father says.  She is also not as delicate as she may appear.

The second daughter of Damon, she is the most wild, and the favorite child of Lady Elsa.  Since Astris was raised more in the Southern style, Merya was raised more in the Dornish way.  Encouraged to become a fighter like the warrior princess Nymeria (for which she has been named), she has been trained to be a fighter since the day she was born.  She is the best archer in the Serpe armies.  At times she even had to dress as a boy and go under an alias to ensure she could train like any of the squire boys.  Due to this, she has forsaken that she will ever wed and is said to only prefer the company of women, much to the annoyance of her father.
