| Sometimes being the first of something doesn't mean being the best. Sometimes it means you've got to carry the burden of the trials and errors that come while paving the way. Sometimes it means the cause is better off if you're surpassed by your successors. Sometimes being the 'big sister' means being the one that sets the standard while also being the precautionary tale of what not to do. That's the damning thing about being a trailblazer; the next in line behind you is always going to be measured against you, and eventually that means becoming the path instead of the destination, but that doesn't mean forgetting who led the charge.
Demons aside, politics aside, and even to be quite frank with you, wrestling ability aside, Joanie Laurer was the first female wrestler to put the division out there and on the map. She was intergender before Candice and Joey, she was winning men's gold long before Kimber Lee or LuFisto, and she broke the mold for athletic women like Del Rey and Eagles. She was even headlining before Trish or Lita. You have to give credit for where women's wrestling is in some degree to Chyna. For that, as a fan of what WWE's pumping out with the ladies, what TNA has done with their women in the past, and for what the indies have done to dissolve that divide between the men and the women, I say thank you Chyna. |

| I hope the wrestlers of the current generation are taking a long, hard look at the death rate of the wrestlers who competed in the late 80s through the early 2000s. If nothing else, these deaths may have some long-term impact that changes the way the business (Especially at the top) operates and people turn away from things like drugs to help them cope with the rigors of the job.
Rest in Peace, Chyna. |

| This has played on my mind all day since I woke up this morning...such a shame to see the woman who realistically, paved the way for womens wrestling today. Heaven gained another angel, at so young...now though, she's reuinited with Eddie G.
RIP Chyna. |

| I shared and wrote this on my tumblr and will put it here.
DEAR WWE I don’t want to hear an apology. It is far too late to apologize or bury the hatchet. The time to forgive and apologize and move on like adults has passed. She had so many demons much like X-Pac and Scott Hall and various other superstars have had in the past, and yet you had no problem reaching out and helping them. But you couldn’t help someone who’s life you were partly responsible for ruining. You are not entirely at fault but you are to take some blame for this. Us fans have been wanting her to be inducted but excuse after excuse is what you gave us. What is your excuse now? Or have you decided to give in because she’s gone? She is too good for your Hall of Fame. I hope she finds peace and personally hope that this weighs on your soul for a very long time. Now to those who insulted her or made fun of her, now you want to be sad because she is gone. As a wrestling fan, Chyna was one of the most inspirational women in wrestling history period. Her death should not be the reason she would be inducted or glorified. This can teach a lesson that you never know when you will lose someone, what you do and say can effect one an other. This is a lesson to be learned. For everyone, wrestler or not. |
