Eiji Ezaki, known to wrestling fans as Hayabusa, was found dead yesterday in Japan. He was 47 years old.

The official cause of death is listed as subarachnoid hemorrhage, which is bleeding in the area of the brain and the tissues that cover the brain.

Hayabusa was one of the great high-flying innovators and a legend in Japanese independent promotions. Innovated supposedly the Falcon Arrow and the Phoenix Splash.

Was a big star of FMW (Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling) in Japan. How big of a star was he? Not long after he was forced to retire after breaking his neck in a match, the promotion folded.

I would definitely recommend looking up some of his work. It's worth it IMO. A good place to start would be his Super J Cup match with Liger.

Oddly enough, I only found out through Robbie that he's Rook's pic base a week or so ago.
