Boys and gals, would you be willing to fight/die for your country?

In the old days it was quite a patriotic time, I'm curious if people would even be nearly as much like that now? It was quite frowned up in the old days to not go to war if drafts and stuff happened, and now women can be in the army too.

Not even close, this country is in fact full of people I hate. And it would be hypocritical of me because I don't like the type of people who boast and brag about being in the military

I have respect for our armed forces. I would fight for our country yes...I don't think our country would fight for me.

It depends on what I'm fighting for.

If it's for a good cause, then yes, I absolutely would. If it's for some bullshit politician's war, then absolutely not.

Maybe not the country, but I bleed for my hood.

I definitely will. I can engrave my name in the history books.

I think the country has people worth fighting for (and vice versa), but I question my ability to represent/protect them adequately. I don't think I'm cut out to be in any branch of the US Armed Forces, but I'd be more inclined to do so if I weren't so disenchanted with certain people and events that have transpired over the past 10-15 years.

You know, that comes off as very insulting toward soldiers. I'm not saying war is a good thing, hell, almost all soldiers will say it's a horrible thing.

But calling them barbaric.... you just called my grandfather, both on my mom and my dad side respectively, barbaric.

I'd die for my family, not for this country.

I almost feel like I'm SUPPOSED to say yes...but nah. I come from a family where my grandma and a good 90% of the men on my mom's side were in the Army. So I respect the military with all that I have in me, and I guess I'll support them wherever they go, but I couldn't do what they do.

Maybe my answer will change when some of the people in this country change. I might rethink it when cops stop shooting unarmed people of color and neckbeards stop waving the Confederate flag. I'm not dying for THOSE people; I'd shove them in front of a bus.

I only fight and would die for things I believe in.

I'm not going to war over anything else.
