| The right words don't really seem to be coming to me right now. My deepest prayers and condolences go out to her family and to those here who knew her the best. She was a special person, so sweet and kind, genuinely one of those rare people who don't have a bad bone in their body.
Rest in Peace Brody, we're gonna miss you. |

| I've tried to find the right words to say and nothing seems right. You were the only person I could talk to who understood fully what I was going through and now you're gone. We've had our differences, but who doesn't? You were truly an inspiration to me and to others and your spark will shine through us all. As I type this all out, my hands are shaking and my stomach is turning in one of those terrifying ways because none of this seems real at all. I just hope you've found peace wherever you are, we love you. |

| There's so much I could say, but it's so difficult to say it.
When I woke up this morning and checked EAW, I didn't expect to see this. To think that she's actually gone, with no foreword, no warning, nothing, is just surreal. One moment we were laughing in the trio chat, and the next I wake up to find out that she's never going to be there again. I probably won't ever really understand and realise that she's gone, because she had such an impact in my life over the last year or so. I spoke to her almost every day on Discord, she gave me so much support and advice, and she was truly the light through many dull, boring, or miserable days.
I remember the first time I had a proper interaction with her. It was after my New Breed title win, and we were both in the xat chat. She messaged me privately on there immediately after the match was over to tell me how proud she was, how she had supported me since day one, and how she hoped I would continue to be successful here. This was before I even knew her as the friend she was and will still be to me, and it just shows what kind of person she was. Brody/Mavis was the spark of EAW, not just because she stood out, but because she was the light for everyone. She guided people through her support, she brightened people's days with her humour, and she was the beacon that people looked to if they needed help or if they wanted to talk.
She built people up, she made them feel confident and strong, and now with her passing, she's brought people together. I may not have known her for as long as most people here, but in the last year she quickly became one of my closest friends. She was just that kind of approachable, brilliant person. And I'm so glad I got to know her, because she is one of the people who has given me so much more confidence in myself. Because she believed in people. It didn't matter who you were, it didn't matter how little faith you had in yourself, because Brody was there to believe in you and that was enough. And now that she's gone, it feels worse than having your heart ripped out. She was one of the people I went to if I needed a laugh or if I felt down and wanted a distraction, and now checking group chats in this difficult time and knowing that she's not there is crushing.
But we'll move on knowing that she's with us in some way. Because even though she isn't with us now in the physical world, she's still with us in terms of impact. I don't believe in heaven and God, but I believe that people do live on in memories and impact, and Brody left one of the biggest impacts and some of the greatest memories. One spark can ignite the world, and Brody proved that.
Mavis, I hope you rest in peace knowing you gave people a reason to be happy whilst you were still with us, and now with the memories you leave behind, you'll continue to give people a reason to smile.

| One of the most saddest news I've woken up to. God bless her.. She was the first person to lead me here to EAW before CM Banks convinced me to join NEO. She was so nice when I first met her. She first joined the editing community discord I was in and we talked for a while and she interested me in another e-fed which is "EAW". I joined this e-fed's discord and she was really friendly while everyone else wasn't. (Jk) Anyways she was really nice and friendly. I'll miss Brody. RIP. PS: she didn't realize how good of an editor she was. |

| Man I don't even know what to say about this... She legit seemed like one of the happiest people here... and now idk dawg. Shit like this goes down and you start thinking about small things she said that you didn't think much of but now make too much sense. She was definitely one of my favorite people here, we joked around all the time, and I considered her a good friend. I might not have been her best friend here, she never opened up to me about any of this shit, but I definitely cared about her tho and so this one hits hard. I'm glad that I had the honor to work with her on Empire writing her storylines and Specialist Title matches earlier this year, it was prolly my best match writing ever and a lot of that was because of the incredible character she had created here. She was absolutely a future Hall of Famer here and personally I think she still should be tho it's prolly too soon to be thinking about EAW shit right now that ain't what's important. We gotta honor her memory and take care.
I'd like to echo the OG post saying that it's very important for us all to support each other especially right now. After the Eclipse shit, and now this... They are two very different situations but still two losses for people here (maybe more since the Eclipse firing took away multiple accounts people thought was different people), no matter how you look at it this ain't a good time for EAW. People gonna be grieving so we all gotta take that into account before we say some dumb shit. Just gotta be kind, be supportive, and especially be understanding. We don't need anymore drama. "I don't need any drama". That was one of the last things she said to me and I like an idiota was annoyed cuz I thought she was ignoring my DMs. It definitely makes me think what I could've done or could do better but I'd also like to say nobody should blame themselves for this. You all goat people and if any of y'all need anything from me to talk or something feel free to hit me up.
RIP Brody I hope that you find that happiness in heaven or wherever you are now. |

| Brody, we were not that close but I feel the heaviness of this loss no less. I just remember you always being active on discord, and the couple of times we had spoken in private when things weren't their greatest in my life. I want you to know that the encouragement you gave me to keep my head up in RL, and compliments you gave me for the efforts I put forth ic always picked up my confidence. You see, very little of an impact in everything I did, but still just enough to touch my heart that will make me remember you forever. The character that you played was an incredibly strong individual, and it's nice to know that that side of your personality was able to come out and make the Brody Sparks character one of the greatest female personalities in this efed, ever.
Take care in the after life wherever it may take you. You will continue to be in my thoughts and my spirits anytime I come here especially. Goodbye Brody. You may be gone, but you'll never ever be forgotten. |

| It goes without saying that I'll miss her. Not because I knew her well or talked to her much at all, but because in a place where many care more about their characters than each other (not a indictment of anyone, it's just something that happens in efeds), Brody, if she didn't flip that script completely, was really close. I always would remind myself that efeds are just some internet thing. Brody seemed to go with that - she never took this TOO seriously - but was more mindful of the fact that there are human beings behind these characters. If what is speculated is true, I really wish the human being behind this character didn't do this. But, sometimes, you get to a point where your head gives out, and the positivity you show can't paper over the cracks anymore.
Obviously there's nothing I can do for her now. And, trying to think back to any conversations I had with her, I don't remember any obvious tips of depression. And even then, there's only so much support we can offer each other over the internet. But a little is better than nothing. Ever since I started nursing school, I've had a lot of 12 and 16 hour days. But the idea that I can't take five minutes every week or so to stop back here and say hello - shit, I don't even do that with my real life friends, and who knows what THEY'RE going through - I need to be better in both areas, especially now that people will be grieving. If she did take her own life, related to depression, I'm not so vain to think that would've saved Brody, but none of us know where anybody's tipping point is. |

| I didn't know her well outside of the spirited conversations we had about differences of opinion in music, along with the usual shallow groan worthy chat banter that I put out there as passing for a personality, but she was always nice to me. Playful, but nice. I wish her family and her friends, here and elsewhere, peace of mind. |

| Update regarding Brody:
According to her brother Mark, Mavis also known as Brody did not take her own life and apparently she passed away due to an undetected blood clot in her lungs. Her brother also specified that she went peacefully, although there aren't much more details than that. What happened to her in all likelihood could have happened to any of us, but this certainly changes the narrative of what truly took place. There was nothing any of us could have done to prevent this, and to anyone who has interacted with her in any positive way, just know you made her time on this earth a better experience because of it. Brody was a strong spirited person who battled back from the depths of depression and she will be dearly missed. |

| Blood clot in the lungs. Tragic and could happen to any of us. It's really cruel the way that life is ripped from us, especially someone who was as passionate as Brody/Mavis. Truly sad. |

| Rest In Peace brody, May god grant peace upon the hearts of her loved ones during this time.
“You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.
I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.” Psalm 63:1-6, 8 NIV http://bible.com/111/psa.63.1-6,8.niv |

| I feel bad that I don't have more to say as my increasing work schedule irl has made my appearances in the chat far and few between since I started here but Brody was someone very special and I'm sure that was not contained to only EAW. You look around this community and even before this happened Brody was someone that people felt no restraints in publicly praising. Her name held true to the fact that she was a spark of positivity in this community. Upon my arrival to this site I remember my first encounters with Brody. Her and I were clearly different people but she was someone who I still felt an appreciation for, especially in how her presence could instantly make the chat a brighter place. Reading all of the wonderful things everything has to say about her combined with my own past interactions with her make me wish I would have had a chance to know her better but I can find comfort seeing how many people she had such an impact on and knowing that although it was very untimely, she did leave us peacefully. |

| Thank you to whoever got the info for us about the cause of death. I can't speak for everyone else, but closure is closure, and I appreciated it. It's good to know that Brody fought and beat depression. Doing administrative stuff for this place has not been a glamorous job lately, yet everything's been handled very well. |

| I took my time thinking about what I wanted to say. When I first met Brody it was on her first day in xat when Aria introduced her to us. Immediately she started vibing with everyone, cracking jokes, mostly about DDD's feet fetish. I remember sitting back, cracking up for hours from their banter, particularly DDD's "I know some young dudes who would (fill in the blank lol) you" followed by Brody's challenge of acceptance. That's the thing about Brody - she was always eager to go back and forth with anyone. She was the life of the chat and EAW in general. While she may have suffered from bouts of depression, she always made time for others. She would put you over before putting herself over, which said a lot about her character. Sure she was intense with the dirty jokes sometimes - but this is EAW. My first day here was a DDD rant about 'cummies' lol. It wasn't until several months after her debut did I get to know the woman behind the woman, Mavis Sterling. Somehow she managed to hunt me down on Facebook and friend requested me. We would chat about non-EAW stuff. She confided a lot of things in me and trusted my judgment, I saw this as an honor, and the first time and in a long time someone has followed my advice so closely. I encouraged her to get to NY so she could restart her life to help her mom and brother. No matter what her family would go through she loved them so much. Even when she felt stressed or alone, it was always 'I can't leave my mom alone'. All Mavis wanted was to love and be loved in turn. I felt like this community had fulfilled that with her and vice versa. Cloud and Brody had a unique rivalry/relationship. They didn't cross paths until her return. They were sisters in the Sanatorium's Coven. I hade saying or even typing those words for obvious reasons, but unfortunately, it's a part of my e-fed career. Brody and I would spend days and nights tossing ideas back and forth. When I wrote Cloud's departure from The Coven, she was my muse, writing lines for everyone to say. She was concerned with getting everyone over just as much as I was. It was a surprise to her when she read the Inferno match for her Specialist title defense. Her lack of defenses was bothering her personally, and she felt like she was being judged because of that. I personally believed in her character and wanted to give her something to at least use in her future defense at PFP 10. While I knew the result, she thought she was losing that belt that night. She would pm me like 'do me proud cloudy!', thinking I was going to walk into PFP with a second Specialist reign. As cool as that would be, my only concern was showing EAW the potential of this brilliant Hypnotic Heretic. I was always in awe of Brody's writing ability and storytelling. She knew how to weave her words together like a hypnotic song, luring you in like the siren she was. She took great pride in her character development and was always thinking of new ways to improve her character. She was arguably Cloud's biggest fan (even more so than me lol) and was the one who suggested her NPC Monica Vaughan and Cloud become a couple. She did whatever she could to help contribute to my success and for that, I'm forever grateful. She's inspired me to be a better friend, social worker, and human being. The best thing I can do for her memory is to be the person she always saw me as. #SparksRUs

| To lose someone as special and kind as Brody is...it’s hard.
Truly this is a horrible loss. Brody was such a unique individual. Her kookiness, her overt sexuality, her sense of humor, “guys, I’m high”...all of it. It all made chat and the fed that much more inviting and fun and free. You could be yourself around Brody because she was always herself, no bullshit, always 100.
The world lost a great woman. A strong, smart, talented woman, and we are the worse for it.
Let us always remember Brody Sparks. Rest In Peace, Mavis. God Bless You.

| I don't really know what to say here guys I mean I can't believe I'm one of the last people to find this out and Mavis and I talked a much as we did. She was probably my best friend when it came to efeds and in life in general. I knew her for quite sometime and we always enjoyed working together. It's still something that's really shocking to me because she was always the one person who could change how I felt about myself or anything else. I was closer with her then anybody else in the efed world and I am truly going to miss reading her messages or her yelling at me because I'm not on facetime. I along with a hell of a lot of people are truly going to miss the awesome person you were. I'll never forget the chats we had and the way you were always able to make me laugh. I literally just found out about this today so it's still shocking as hell to me. Mavis you're going to be remembered by a lot of people because you touched us all. We love you and will miss the hell out of you. |

| I've been dealing with this a different kind of way as the way I found out was kinda hard for me to take it in and I didn't have the words to speak on it till now. It was the morning of my Birthday and I just come on the EAW site and I see she's passed away and it's like this overwhelming feeling of sadness and just I couldn't explain how I was feeling and I was reeling, even going on with my day was difficult and I couldn't stop thinking about why did this have to happen to such a free spirit, such a beautiful person. I commend EAW for sticking together and I commend the populace, and I just want to say Rest in Power Brody, and I give the promos I cut for RTR and the match itself dedicated to you because you wanted me to win. And I hope we can all not let petty things that come with this efed make us lose sight that we are one big happy family in the end, look out for the people you form relationships on here because you never know what is going on with them personally. |
