I am ashamed for leaving the way I did, but it was out of anger, and depression, there was someone, who I wont name, who was blackmailing me, yes I didn't write the poems myself, I would use them as a template which doesn't change the fact that I guess it was indeed plagiarism, I am ashamed of myself for even doing that, I'm sorry for that as well. 2016 has not been a good year for me personally, so on top of that, that person made me feel even more shittier about myself, both as a person and they made me realize that my promos are awful. 

I sincerely apologize to everyone for my actions. All I ask for is forgiveness and trust in me that none of this will happen again.

Everyone has done in their life, so it's a part of the struggles of being a writer. The poems were added part of your but people should look past that and look at the rest of the promo.

We all make mistakes and I know that you're young and you're going through a lot. It's fine on my part.

However, if there is someone who is an active member of EAW and is blackmailing you, you need to tell someone IMMEDIATELY. Those type of actions should and will not be tolerated.

First of all. Your promos are not awful at all. Far from it. I'm glad you're back. Don't let anyone stop you from enjoying a ONLINE GAME cause at the end of the day, this is just a hobby and it shouldn't be spoiled for you.

Just going off with what LC said and that it's a good thing that you realized that plagiarism was wrong here rather than in an environment where it could impact you when you go on to select colleges and what not.

If there is anyone that is giving you an issue or blackmailing you in your case, don't be afraid to go to anyone about it. Feel free go to any of us girls, a writer or DDD. We want you to feel comfortable in this community. We're all human and we can say that 2016 has been a bitch to all of us, but think of 2017 as a fresh start not only for us, but for you as well.

Idk how you were being blackmailed tho. I mean the Empire staff was fully aware that you weren't writing the poems before you left and we didn't really care aside from when you were bragging on chat they took you "hours" to write. I think I talked to you about this and you said you were gonna go another route with your promos so everything seemed chill.

But yeah Maddie, I'm glad that you're back as well. Don't scare us like that again and whomever threatened to blackmail you karma will come around and bite them in the ass eventually. Like Jamie said you can't be penalized for plagiarism since all of has used poems, lyrics etc in our promos before, so you using poems in your promos are no different. Especially if they are just a template to create something that is yours because every writer/creator has used other ideas from different creators to influence their work.

Glad to have you back. Considering all of us here, to one extent or another, rip off the looks, gimmicks, mannerisms, moves, etc of wreslters, mma fighters, movies, tv and more ... Well, while plagiarism isn't a good thing, it's far from the worst thing that's happened in these forums. You're back and the most important part is that you have fun.

The first person should of just reported you.-Though using poems as a template is a bit different than full on plagiarism, but w.e since apparently you were saying it took you hours.-

You should of just reported the first person when blackmailing was done instead of reporting.

I do remember back in the day when me and RoV had to deal with black mailing attempt, I'm over it and the person is my friend so I don't mention a name, but black mailing isn't really new to EAW.

Cite your sources. It's not wrong to be inspired by something. When people write essays, they tend to take the source and dive deeper into what it means. Even saying, "there is this poem, written by ??? that has a lot about doing with this situation I am in." Then take it apart from there, because lets be honest, you had a reason to put that poem in there to begin with if it adds context to your own personal thoughts. Point being, I think everyone here is inspired by something, and while I won't say copy something word for word, if you must, just give credit where credit is due and don't take it as your own. This could had all easily been avoided with adding 2-3 sentences citing your course and an apologize saying you didn't know better, and move on. Mistakes happen.

As for black mailing, seriously, people, what would you have to gain from having information on Maddie? It makes no sense. While Blackmail is wrong, you use it against someone that actually has power. Gosh! If you are going to do it, do it right. Get dirt on DDD, Rob, or Brian or something. 

But none the less, Welcome back, young lady. Hopefully you've learned your lesson and just know that taking credit for other people's work is wrong. Remember, plagiarism is only wrong if you take credit for it and add nothing to it. Cite your sources is all.
