| Celine Dion's "My Heart will go On" was done in only one recording, and was never re-recorded. She went on to say she hated the song, and that's why there was no second recording. |

| A few for the American football fans:
- Mike Riley, Nebraska's current head coach, coached the Chargers in 2000 where Ryan Leaf, Jim Harbaugh, and Moses Moreno all played at quarterback. Each threw at least one interception in Week 11 against the Dolphins.
- Some of you might have seen the New Orleans Saints get the first FART (Failed Attempt Return Touchdown) for 2 points in the history of the league. This rule, which came into effect for the NFL this season, was around in college since 1988.
- Andy Reid has said in the past that he would consider punting from the opponent's 21 yard line on 4th and inches in order to gain that one yard of field position.
- When the players went on strike in 1987, the NFL allowed Tony Robinson to be a replacement player while in the middle of a jail sentence.
- In 2001, the first score - field goal or touchdown - was the game winner in overtime. Detroit Lions coach Marty Mornhinwheg won the coin toss and chose to kick anyway. The Lions never got the ball in that OT.
- Speaking of the Lions, their record was 0-16 in 2008. Their preseason record that year was 4-0.
- In video games, the team that kicks off in the second half depends directly on which team kicked off in the first half. In real life, it's a little less direct - specifically, "kick" and "defer" don't mean the same thing. This particular screw-up led to an instance in 2010 where Nebraska kicked off to start both halves against Missouri.
- The Seattle Seahawks had a 10-loss 2010-11 season. This included a playoff win.
- One of the NFL games I watched was Lions vs. Broncos in 2001. Detroit quarterback Ty Detmer threw seven interceptions.
- Cris Collinsworth, the NBC commentator, was recruited to Florida as a quarterback and converted to receiver. In the NFL, he threw one pass. It was a pick six.
Great thread - I might come back with more. |

| John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both played a big part in the American Revolution and in the making of the Declaration of Independence. Both were also President of the United States at one point. Both men died on July 4th, 1826, which was the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence which they both played a huge part in. |

| Wives live longer than husbands, because they're not married to women.
In a recent study, 9 out of 10 Americans believe that out of 10 people, one person will always disagree with the other nine.
The lowest score in an NBA coming after the inception of the 24 second shot clock? Boston beating Milwaukee 62-57. Before the shot clock? Fort Wayne beating Minneapolis 19-18.
During Last season's New York-Orlando tilt, the second quarter alone was a combined 15 points (8-7 for the Knicks). This is the lowest scoring quarter in the shot clock era. 209,888 other quarters haven't been any lower scoring than this one. Their combined field goal? 6-39, 0-9 from deep.
A 1935 Stanley Cup Playoff game was legitimately almost the equivalent of three games. Detroit and Montreal had six overtime periods, before Montreal buried one home at the 16 minute mark of the overtime period. The final score? 1-0. |

Are you including their playoff loss to the Bears after our win against the Saints? That would make them 8-10 on the year, but they won the NFC West with a 7-9 record in the last game after defeating the Rams... And they did it with their backup QB Charlie Whitehurst! |

| The light bulb was actually invented by an Englishman named Humphrey Davy and NOT Thomas Edison. Edison's scientists simply improved upon the original created by Davy and were able to make a light bulb that lasted for 4 days, rather than the mere hours that Davy's had.
Edison taking credit for someone else's work is hardly trivia but I found this interesting. |

Yep, 7-9 regular season, 8-10 including the playoffs. |

| **SPOILER**
If you watched the movie The Descent where the group of women go spelunking in a cave and get lost, the cast didn't know the "creatures" that were supposed to be in the cave. So when the scene with the cave-creatures show up, those are genuine screams of horror from the women. The director apparently wanted to capture true fear in their faces. Cool huh? |

| Comic Book Trivia:
The Joker doesn't have a genuine mental diagnosis. He has been assigned several including: Multiple Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, Megalomania, Bipolar Disorder, and Narcissm. Grant Morrison has stated that the Joker has Super Sanity which could be termed as Sociopathic but with high enough level of sanity to know the consequences of his actions, and that he simply reinvents himself every day to cope with life.
The Sandman by Neil Gaiman was originally going to be made into a film, however Neil Gaiman stopped production when the film wasn't what he wanted his vision to be. Plans are apparently underway to redo the film.
Kaiju Trivia
Godzilla vs. Destroyah was originally going to be Godzilla vs. Godzilla to include a Ghost Godzilla that was the original one destroyed in the first film. These plans were scrapped due to the Japanese believing American audiences wouldn't understand it. The next plan was to then have Godzilla vs. The Devil but this seemed too outlandish and it was scrapped...but the devil costume was kept and remade into Destroyah.
King Kong is only 25 feet tall. For Godzilla vs. King Kong they had to increase Kong's size to make it seem more natural that the two would be able to fight.
Though Mothra is famous for being in the Godzilla franchise she has actually had three movies of her own, which includes her son Mothra Leo.
Horror Film Trivia:
Michael Myers mask from Halloween is actually a Captain Kirk mask turned inside out. |

| Most pirate ships did not operate with an authoritative/dictator-like captain. In fact, the captain was usually elected and could be un-elected if he did a shit job. Pirate ships also paid out benefits if you lost a body part, votes were taken on how the ship would operate, and instead of being paid meager wages, you would be paid a percentage out of the plunder.
When a wasp stings you, it leaves a scent for other wasps to sting you as well.
Contrary to massively popular belief, Tim Burton did not direct The Nightmare Before Christmas. Henry Selick did.
All the planets in our solar system can fit, lined up, inside the gap between the Earth and our moon.
At the same time they were working on the atom bomb, the US military was planning a "bat bomb" which involved artificially hibernating bats in a giant honeycomb-like structure, each with tiny nitroglycerin bombs attached to them. Drop over japan before dawn. The thing comes down with a parachute, giving the bats time to wake up. They fly out over Japan, then the sun comes up, so they go and hide in the roofs of all the wooden buildings. Wait a few hours, blow up all the bats, and Japanese cities burn to the ground with minimal casualties. They tested it somewhere with a little fake town they built. It worked, but the wind changed while it was coming down and the bats actually ended up flying back to the base and burning down the flightline.
Koalas should be killed off by natural selection. The only food that they eat kills their teeth so eventually they can't eat anymore and starve. They also are all giving each other chlamydia and the eucalyptus they eat is a hallucinogen for them. They basically lay about every day tripping balls and giving each other STDs. They are the New Jersey of the animal kingdom. |

| In Japan, the Street Fighter character Balrog is named M. Bison after Mike Tyson but was changed for the global release to avoid legal issues. The popular villain we know today as M. Bison is actually named Vega in Japan and Vega is called Balrog. |
