| This is probably the #1 most asked question in all of humankind: Are you afraid of death? The reason why I imposed this question is because of the fact that with what just happened in Paris just a couple of hours ago, seeing the terrorists end the lives of those innocent people just having a good time, I suddenly felt vulnerable all of a sudden because I started to think back about death, and the feeling to not be alive. For many years, I have tried very hard to stop thinking about it, just clinging on to the fact that I should just continue to make use of every second that I spend on in Earth. But, with all this corruption and evilness continuing to grow around, I just can't escape from this inevitability. I can say this right now, I am too afraid to die--to know that I won't exist anymore to see my friends, family, and loved ones. At least, if there could be anything in the world that can create an idea of what happens in the afterlife, then I will be the most relieved man in the entire world, but with this back-and-forth brawling within me, it is just hard for me.
What do you guys think? I know some people would like to appear 'tough' and take death as some light joke, but profess your true feelings and emotion about death here. |

| No I do not, because it's inevitable and in my opinion i'm not going to worry about something that I can't control. I just try to enjoy my life to the fullest. |

Well said I agree with this, I'd rather myself die than to see others I love dying before me. |

| I'm afraid of not accomplishing all that I want too before I die. If I'm on my death bed, I want to be able to say that I've had a good life and I wouldn't change anything. |

| I'm not going to profess my 'true' feelings or go deep into my emotions to explain why but yes, I am scared of death. It's not explainable or at least in my case, I just have a fear and I can't get rid of it. That is probably it. |

| People saying they're fearless of death because it's inevitable, those are all mere words coming from a standpoint that precedes said event. Thus, when the moment does come for you to meet your maker, you'll experience the most dread you could possibly go through |

| I've faced death quite a few times in my life, and I know that one day I wont best it. I'm more so afraid of the act of dying than the hereafter. I've experienced a lot of pain in my life, some of which had the potential to kill me. It wasn't nice, and I can only imagine the pain that awaits that's capable of shaking my mortal coil from consciousness. I've always thought of death as, ironically, a defense mechanism, like passing out or going into shock when confronted by something unimaginably painful. Death's just the amplification of that. If that's the case, I'd assume it'd take one or more great pains to put us down for the count, be it the accumulated pain and rigor of age and/or disease, or something more immediate, like a bomb explosion or knife to the heart. Death is the release, the anesthetic, the escape from what's overtaken us.
Yeah, it'll be brief if we're lucky, but I'd imagine that pain is immeasurable. Maybe that's what hell is. Something so painful that it feels like it's eternal. I don't really fear the after, though. |

| In all seriousness, I'm more afraid that one day our technology will become so advanced that we won't die than I am of dying. |

| I don't really live my life in fear of how it will end, but it's easier for a teenager or some 20-something yuppie to say they're not scared of death because it's still a distant way's away for them (as a general rule). I'd like to think I'll be less scared of death as it approaches, that I'll feel more fulfilled with my life and be at peace with everything. Right now, I can't even fathom it, and I don't really think many people could. |

| Yeah definitely, I once had a bad acid trip and was convinced I was dying. Was legit the most terrifying experience I ever had and made me realise life is awesome and I wanna enjoy it for a long time. I think most people who have life goals, aspirations or just people they love will fear death to some degree because they have something to lose if they did die. |
