| Log Horizon helped me figure out why I hate Sword Art Online so much. SAO is not actually about MMO's. It's just a fantasy setting, which uses an MMO as a faulty pretext. The episodic nature was initially what set me off about it, but at best, SAO had some MMO concepts mixed in (Helping the girl revive her pet being a side-quest, that dumb murder mystery being a sort of allegory for a quest), but aside from having health bars, there was nothing MMO-y about SAO at all.
Which is why I actually like Log Horizon, because it actually gives its source material justice, where SAO just shits all over it because Kirito's harem is more important. |

| I went back to the vid and clicked it to continue, and the intro started with either a game of thrones reference or just a coincidental mirror image, I can't believe it, they're trying to kill to me or wanted me to post a lot on this thread. I might have to rate this shit a ten with only two episodes. |

| SUMMER ANIME REACTIONS Best Main Protagonist - Momoka Sonokawa (Sabagebu!) It was incredibly tough deciding between Momoka and Inaho (Aldnoah.Zero), but I think I had to go with Momoka just for how much of a breath of fresh air she is. Granted, Inaho too is a breath of fresh air, but he's edged out a little for being more downplayed as a quiet badass that keeps to himself and does what a smart person should do as a soldier in time of war. However, Momoka is a sadistic scumbag in the body of a cute teenage girl. She's greedy, egotistical, and gives absolutely no fucks about who she hurts as long as she wins and goes as far as repeatedly suckering opponents into a false sense of security by allying with them and immediately turning on them the moment they're useless to her. In any other anime, SHE would be the villain. Though she does have some redeemable qualities, it's just how terrible she is that makes her so much fun to watch and even her friends understand that. Best Main Antagonist - Count Saazbaum (Aldnoah.Zero) It was also tough choosing between Saazbaum and 5 (From Zankyou no Terror), but I think Saazbaum did much more damage to our protagonists by conspiring to kill his World's own Princess to frame Earth and start a war. Granted, he can show respect and - Spoiler:
and his lover was murdered by Earth soldiers in a prior battle called Heavens Fall,
but nonetheless, he's one mean son of bitch that doesn't know when to die. Best Soundtrack - Space Dandy S2 The runner up for this definitely is Zankyou no Terror, but I think Space Dandy managed to top it by a little bit. Every episode delivered something new and awesome and it was nothing but fun to listen to throughout each story. Best OP - Tokyo Ghoul Runner up: Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Best ED - Barakamon Runner up: Sabagebu! Best Story - Aldnoah.Zero Runners up probably being Barakamon and Zankyou no Terror, Aldnoah.Zero is a great war drama with awesome mech action thrown in. A story of conspiracy and betrayals and warfare and vengeance and everything you could hope to ask for, ESPECIALLY with a fantastic ending that I still think about to this day. Best Animation - Zankyou no Terror Runner up for this one was Space Dandy S2, but I decided to give it to Zankyou no Terror. Terror just always had gorgeous animation that I simply can't say no to. Best Characters - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Though there were some epic shows this season, I have to give it to Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun just for how much I loved the characters in it and the roles they played in the story within a story. I can't say I disliked a single one of them. Best Comedy - Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun Though I think Barakamon is a better overall show, I had to give it to what I believe to be the best COMEDY, and no other show had me laughing as much as Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun. I think the premise is great, the characters are awesome, and it's so much fun to watch. Best Newcomer Anime - Zankyou no Terror Very hard to choose between Zankyou and Aldnoah.Zero and even Barakamon, but I had to give it to Zankyou. It's hard to top a Watanabe anime, but there were a select few that came close. Best Returning Anime - Space Dandy S2 Space Dandy came back with a vengeance for me this season, topping its previous season big time and proving why Watanabe is so great. The anthology-esque episodes had even more interesting stories (ESPECIALLY the episode named "A World without Sadness, Baby"). I think a lot of people really missed out on something awesome by giving up on this show when they realized it isn't Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo, because it deserves better. Worst Overall Anime - Glasslip Bar none, the biggest flop of this season and the last and the next. Glasslip was so boring I wonder to myself why I wasted so much time of my life watching it, and still can't come to a good conclusion. The only reason why I didn't give this show a 1 on MyAnimeList is because it at LEAST looked great. Besides that, it may very well be the worst Anime I've ever had the displeasure of seeing (so far...). Best Overall Anime - Zankyou no Terror This Season, in my opinion, was a great one and had a lot of gems, but I'd have to say the best Anime of them all was Zankyou no Terror. I loved the characters, the designs, the animation, the soundtrack, the story, everything. I highly recommend checking it out. RANKING (Best to Worst): 1. Zankyou no Terror 2. Aldnoah.Zero 3. Barakamon 4. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun 5. Tokyo Ghoul 6. Space Dandy S2 7. Sabagebu! 8. Ao Haru Ride 9. Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita 10. Tokyo ESP 11. Rokujouma no Shinrayakusha!? 12. Shounen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 49 100. Glasslip |

| Summer anime.
Best Main Protagonist – Inaho Kaizuka(Aldnoah.Zero)
He’s one of the only main characters that sort of remind me to one of my favourite anime characters of all time in Kino from Kino’s Journey, he’s a really thoughtful guy and unlike most main male characters he isn’t some dumb guy who eats a lot with super strength or this annoyingly crybaby character, he’s just a chill guy who thinks about what he does, yet he isn’t as emotionless as people would like to try to make him out to be(he obviously cares about his friends and family(keeping small memorabilia of his sister encouraging him to give him comfort before battle, his people and his sister described the subtle details of his feelings). Plus his quote about wars and why they happen and how they end was quite a nice spin.
Best Main Antagonist –The US Government(Zankyou no Terror)
Perhaps it is due to seeing America as a friendly next door neighbor, all the Canadian and US jokes aside, but I found it quite a stun to see how they portrayed the US government in this anime. The atomic bomb stuff and all that was one thing because that was war(though the anime tried to even display them as villains as that), but the way that characterized US was basically like the heavy hand in the background weighing down on EVERYONE. Without the US government there would have been no story, no Japan trying to come back from being losers to the point of making a child intelligence raising labour camp basically, no Five return, no one usurping the authority of the Japanese police force and outside the police, who weren’t giving the main characters that much trouble, the main characters plans would went down perfectly. Even by the end of the anime, the US government, who even went as far as putting the lives of multiple Japanese people on the line to bombs and airplane crashes, left with their parts in the story remaining as a secret to the public and certain key characters dead by their hands, reminding us all that some forces are just too big to budge. One of the few Antagonists to actually win by story‘s end.
Best Soundtrack-Aldnoah.Zero
Best Opening- Tokyo Ghoul
Best Ending- Zankyo no Terror
Best Story- Zankyou no Terror
Best Animation-Zankyou no Terror
Best Characters- Zankyou no Terror
Best Comedy- Barakamon
Worst Overall Anime – Glasslip
Trash. Didn’t even live up to the name or description that made it sound like it would be about a group of friends and a main chick who was trying to become glass artisan as the main plot. It became this really dull and slow moving story.
Best Overall Anime- Zankyou no Terror
A very compelling story with a cast I think anyone can find a character they like, if not many characters, the cast has meaningful people with varying different characteristics and positions, it even turned this one guy I thought I would hate into a really great character trying to help the detective even if it would put himself in danger-I rarely change my opinions on characters-. It casts quite a wide net of a bomber plot, a coming of age story, a romance and every crime solving mystery.
Ranking best to worst.
1.Zankyou no Terror
2. Barakamon
3. Aldnoah.Zero
4.Tokyo Ghoul
5.Tokyo ESP
6.Glasslip(Only anime I watched that I pretty much dropped) |

| Just caught up on Akame ga Kill (episode 19) and I'm being told the anime has officially went off the tracks from the manga after being mostly faithful to the source material. From what I've gathered, it's because - Spoiler:
They merged the assassination of the priest guy and Tatsumi and Mine's fight with Seryu and that other chick, and seem to have made the priest guy stuff go a lot quicker as he's already been killed off before the episode was over.
This, among other things, has made some say they'll be doing an anime original ending, so paging Dr. GI for your thoughts on this, and don't forget to cover up any manga spoilers. |

Well, I'm admittedly like 10 episodes behind, but based on your descriptions, I think what might end up happening is - Spoiler:
The Mine/Seryu and Tatsumi/Last of the 4 Body Morphing people fights happen, followed by a fight where Esdeath fights literally everyone at the same time. Now, if you remember the guy who teleported Tatsumi and Esdeath to the beach, he's going to be a major character in the next arc, so I think maybe he will be introduced at end the season, with that being the end of S1, unless they REALLY want to divert away from the manga's path and finish it all in one season ala Soul Eater
Providing that assumption doesn't happen, however, they have like one more complete arc (plus some kind-of-sort-of-filler stuff), followed by the semi-complete arc they are currently involved with in the manga right now. If they are going how I think they're going, there will be an AgK2 released in a year or two, which will end the series, since based on how things are progressing in the story, it does seem like they're about to reach the climax sooner rather than later (This last bit not placed in spoiler tags, since it is all largely baseless speculation). |

The battle between Mine/Tatsumi and Seryu/that other chick already happened with both getting killed off by Mine/Tatsumi while the rest of NR went after the other Jaegars/the priest guy (killing him off quickly after he didn't heed Esdeath's warning, like I said). Now it looks like it'll be the rest of the Jaegars against the rest of NR with Tatsumi and Mine still elsehwere for the moment.
Not sure if that changes anything, but yeah, figured I'd specify. |

Wave and Ran were doing during that fight, although if I recall correctly, there was another fight between Ran and Lubbock/Akame which sent him off, while Wave protected a very sick Kurome, but in the end I'm 95% sure that the fight was basically Esdeath vs Night Raid. Tatsumi was definitely involved in that fight, although I don't think Mine and Lubbock were there
Although that probably doesn't change much, really. |

| Big News that I think we all overlooked: Laughing Under the Clouds and Psycho-Pass 2 will both be getting English Dub releases WHILE the animes are still airing in Japan. LUTC's first dubbed episode has already been released and Psycho-Pass 2's is on its way with the cast already being announced (with the voice of Vegeta, Zoro, Kuwabara, and others, Chris Sabat, playing Togane ). |

Damn now the best and most fear provoking villain is gone, fuck Esdeath she hasn't even hurt ANYONE relevant. Lol at how Najenda was just trash talking like that, ain't nobody try to pull that shit on Seryu, man. It sounds like this might go down hill, anime only endings can get kinda dumb, but whatever we already lost twisted justice.

I've seen about 6 episodes of it and say it's definitely worth the watch. Madhouse has been knocking it out of the park with this anime, and while it doesn't fill the hole in my heart where Hunter x Hunter left, it suffices quite nicely. I'm enjoying the characters, the story, the soundtrack (love the dubstep incorporated into it), the OP, the ED - pretty much everything. If it didn't have such stiff competition with the likes of Psycho-Pass 2, Mushishi Zoku Shou S2, Shingeki no Bahamut, and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works, it could have been the top anime of this season. |

| I don't really hate that song, actually.... I look at the lyrics and it suits for Parasyte's OP so much. but if that song is less-autotuned it would be much much cool Speaking of Parasyte, I didn't know that there's a Live Action movie for this anime. I look at Sara Takatsuki's blog and she said she just watched the premiere. |
