The Justin T. Barnabei Foundation Empty
PostSubject: The Justin T. Barnabei Foundation   The Justin T. Barnabei Foundation EmptyFebruary 20th 2017, 1:51 am

In April of 2014, EAW lost a beloved member of our community, Justin "Extreme Enigma" Barnabei.

He was a dear friend to many of us here in E-Feds, and the very first person I ever got to know in E-Feds. He proved to be one of the best we've ever had here, both as a worker and as a person. He loved wrestling, he loved rap, and he loved this place enough to spend so much of his time here despite having battled cancer since 2005. It took incredible strength and courage to keep fighting the way he did, and I wish I had been there more to support him. I miss him greatly, and I wish I had been able to at least say goodbye. I'm sure many feel the same way.

However, I was wandering around online, and looked up his name once more, where I discovered that those who knew him in life began a Foundation to help fight childhood cancer. The site they've made can provide you with whatever information you'd like to know about them and Justin himself, but I'd specifically like to point out the page in which you can donate to the Justin T. Barnabei Foundation either via PayPal or by using Amazon Smile, in which you can select it as your Charity of choice so that when you purchase something from Amazon, part of the bill will go to that Charity.

If you'd like to check out the site, here's a link: https://teambarnabei.org/

Here's a direct link to the Donation page for those interested: https://teambarnabei.org/donate-here/

This is an excellent cause and I'm happy to see that his friends and family have continued his legacy past his life. I wish I got to know him a little bit better. I'm sure we would have gotten along much more past my moody teen years. I'll definitely be looking into this and encourage others to as well.

That...... was difficult to read. I never really knew EE, but he is a legend here and this is a great cause. I'll try to help.

That was difficult to read. As far as I remember, I only talked to EE once. He said something like "just keep working hard, you'll get your reward soon enough". Based on from his forum posts, the way he talked, and our only personal conversation, he was such a very good and kind person. I wish I got a chance to know him better as a person. I of course was a fan of his work, be it when it comes to promoing or writing.

Life is wonderful. We have so much fun in life because that it becomes almost impossible to digest something like this when it happens. It's like nature's way of reminding us, nothing is permanent, not even your life. You were born from dust and to dust you shall return.

I personally have a deep grudge against Cancer. Many years ago when I was just a child, I almost lost my mother to this deadly curse of a disease. Thanks to the good Lord, she is alive and well but I shudder to think what would have happened if something bad would have happened. Nevertheless, the suffering one has to go through when such a disease is detected is very tiring and painful.

I never talked with EE but when I was on my first run here, I heard about him a lot. He was indeed a beloved figure here and this news really saddens me. No one should die so young because as they say, death is final but life, life is so full of possibilities

As for the charity, I will donate. Maybe a small contribution from my part today will help remove this disease from the face of this earth and thus, no child will have to cry like I did each night as my mother lay in the hospital bed.

Fuck Cancer, fuck you forever you bastard.

Quote :
"While the foundation was created in memory of Justin and to help those still fighting cancer, Justin was not nor will he ever be solely defined by this disease.  The following is a glimpse into the young man that many were fortunate enough to know and none will ever forget.

Intelligent.  Mature. Dedicated.

JT was valedictorian of his eighth grade class and earned his high school diploma from Cumberland Regional High School early while still going through treatment.

Despite living in Eagles’ territory, he was a proud and avid Dallas Cowboys fan with memorabilia adorning the walls of his bedroom. He loved watching WWE especially his favorite wrestler, John Cena.

Creative.  Sensitive. An “Old Soul.”

Justin expressed his creativity through  drama and theater, performing in “A Christmas Story” with the Cumberland Players. He was a dedicated writer preferring poetry, and a music enthusiast. Reggae, hip-hop, rock, gospel, he loved artists songs from every genre.  He was often seen wearing t-shirts with his favorite musicians and bands on the front.  Music wasn’t just noise to fill the silence.  Justin felt the depth and meaning of each song and often described it as therapeutic.
Family-oriented. Compassionate. Spiritual.

Friends speak of his welcoming nature and consideration for others.  Even when his days dwindled, he expressed his love and dedication to his family, his friends, and God.

Cancer.

Justin Tyler was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on October 26, 2005. On February 7, 2009, after four years of battle, Justin was in full remission.

Unfortunately, at the end of 2012, the Leukemia returned even more aggressively. After numerous options and treatments, Justin received a bone marrow transplant on September 5, 2013 and initially responded well. However, on January 5, 2014, Justin was admitted to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where he was treated throughout his illness.

Ultimately, due to complications from the bone marrow transplant, Justin was diagnosed with transverse myelitis and stopped responding to medications and treatment. This affected the way Justin maintained his heart rate, body temperature, breathing, reflexes and other vital functions of his body. After being told there were no other treatments or medications, Justin made the decision to return home. On April 9, 2014, less than two weeks after he returned home, Justin passed while surrounded by his family. He was eighteen years old."

Reading this brings a tear to my eye. I got to know EE well during the later stages of my e-fed run. I remember him when he PCed me during Road to Redemption, he and I made a deal to "team up" in a way. Where he wouldn't promo on me and I wouldn't promo on him, lmao. I just remember the Skype calls where he'd be flirting with his nurse, watching shows live (most notably Pain for Pride, when he had us start a "POT POT POT" chant when he faced Hades. Fuck cancer. It took a great friend, a hero, and a talented individual from this Earth. I hope you're kicking ass in the afterlife, EE.

EE and I were never that close but he was always nice to me. He knew I was gonna be pushed in 2011 and advised me to be more consistent so it would work out. It didn't unfortunately, but that's besides the point. He tried to help me. That means a lot to me. I don't know if there's a heaven or a hell but if there is I'm sure he's in heaven right now. He has to be. God would be stupid not to have someone like him with him there.

I'm broke as fuck. I literally don't even got a dime in my pocket right now. I know I won't be broke forever tho. I know I'm getting out of the abyss I'm in right now. When that day comes I'll donate to the foundation as much as I can. For him and other people struggling with the monster that is cancer. I added the page to my favorites, thanks for sharing it Robbie.

I never got know EE, but I can say that I'm glad that I've known the people that were around him. Hearing tales of how great of a friend he was to many. I'll surely donate as much as I can and really hope that we can get rid of cancer, once and for all.

Reading this and looking through that site makes me feel so much pain inside. If you're reading this please give what you can, if anything at all. It might sound idealistic but while unfortunately we can't contribute to saving Justin we surely can contribute to the possibility that one day other children won't have to go through what he went through; or at the very least make their time on this earth more special and pleasing. Love you always EE, I'm still always thinking about you even three years later. I miss you buddy.

It's good to see his legacy carries on in some way, keep him in your hearts and donate if you can. Personally, the first time I heard EE was dead it really hit me, I've obviously known of death but usually it was distant family or people in my school who were not in my circle of friends. EE was the first person I considered a friend to die, and yes despite this being online I truly do consider some of you as friends, and many more of you as apart of a shared community I am in, and I honestly hope this serves as a reminder to some of you that there are people behind the screen as sometimes we devolve into drama and truly sinister activities, let alone how much we forget to value the relations we gain here. I purposely refrain from continuing to speak on that, since some of the things some said to EE back in the day would truly make me angry if I'd go further into this.

Right now, I feel more uplifted than sad like back then, to me this is more of a bright reminder of him and it at least serves to show he is not forgotten.

Just caught this, I have to agree with Jay with saying it really did feel like losing a close friend because he truly was one. He was the first person to make me feel comfortable in EAW and we always bounced ideas off eachother. I really do miss him and I'm glad his life has reached so many people. I'll be helping when I can.

I'm definently going to donate when I can and will use Amazon Smile when I order things. It's a shame I didn't get a chance to meet this guy. He sounds like someone I would have been best friends with.

A wonderful person.

Had the chance to talk to him quite a lot when he was in EAW, always a joy to be around.

I will be donating as soon as possible. Things are a little tight for me but if I have to sacrifice a little for a foundation like this, so be it. I encourage everyone who can to give as much as they reasonably can.
