| I say this with a heavy heart, whether you believe it or not...
Over the last couple of days, I’ve been kicking around different ideas of how to put this without coming across pretentious or anything like that. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to make a thread about it considering how cliché it all sort of it. But I felt it best to put this publicly instead of just disappearing and riding out into the sunset after talking to a board member or two about what’s up. You all have heard this sort of thing before. Lately life has been really hard for a lot of personal reasons—school, work, relationships. I don’t need to go into all the details or anything like that, but for anyone in my position, you’d understand just how hard it would be to juggle real life stuff with the stuff going on here, especially when the demand here has gone up and up and up. In almost every case, it would be absurd for a champion to selfishly promise that they can perform at such a high quality when they know that this isn’t the thing that comes first and foremost—when the deck is stacked against you and there are other people that want it more than you do. I don’t see this really changing anytime soon, and it’s something that I’ve thought long and hard about since I first graduated high school and still hung around here. Life comes at you. Sooner or later, everyone’s got a time to go. I felt it best to go about posting a public announcement for this in order to thank the community for what they’ve given me. I’d go into detail about specifics, but in fear of leaving anyone out, I’ll speak very broadly. Thank you to those who don’t really follow along and hype up the people who they cyber on the low-low. Thank you to management for banking on us old folks that have stuck around for title number forty-five instead of lesser-skilled noobs. And on a serious note, thank you to Eclipse for being an excellent sport and always understand what’s serious and what isn’t when so many people seem to be pretty inept in terms of what’s trolling and what’s real. I admittedly wish I could carry myself more like you do, but alas, here I am. In closing, I’d like to reiterate where I’m coming from here: the deck is stacked against me and sometimes I choose to be upset about it because it’s easy to be. But in truth, I know I’m going to be one of the top guys here whether new guys feel shafted by it or not, whether I’m predicted to win something or not, whether I’m “next in line” or have to wait two years before even being considered. And in spite of everything I said above about promising to perform at an elite level when the going gets tough—I am that exception. In spite of all the stuff going on in my personal life, I’m still going to make sure to be a nightmare for the people I promo against—and you all should strive to be that way too. Just know that when the time comes for me to actually pack up my things and go, I’ll be going out on top then too. |

I'm not exactly up on the times, but why have rating scales gotten smaller and smaller? Back in my day, it used to be out of 100, then it went to out of 10, then out of 5 and now out of 2 stars? I'm still not getting it, but thank you, tiggy |
