| Simply buying into whatever is being sold. Like for example if I was to start believing whatever compliments or praise that anyone' would say that would make me a mark for myself. Believing that someone is everything they're written to be makes you a mark for that persons. Simply believing is being a mark |

| Liking a Wrestler so much that you're so biased to them, and think they can't do anything wrong.(Guilty as charged.) |

Lol guess that makes me one too. Everyone seems to think I give Becky Lynch too much credit (some would even say "You only like her because you're into redheads!") When in fact she was main eventing the first Shimmer DVD I ever bought and oddly enough next thing I know she's on NXT with the River Dancer gimmick. But in all seriousness, yeah you and Showster kinda combine into my definition of a "Mark" so to say, a bandwagoner who religiously worships one wrestler and believes every dirtsheet. (Kinda like 95% of most Paige fans honestly). I guess in short it's people who don't make opinions for themselves. |

| Pretty much what showster said. A mark is someone who can be easily tricked or sold into whatever you are going for. Like if you sellin' weed you might try to find marks who look like people who gonna buy yo shit. If you lookin' for pussy you gotta find yo mark who you actually got a shot with them bitches who look down o fuck are marks for yo pickup game.
It's the same in wrestling. When John Cena or Roman Reigns come out they are tryin' to sell their gimmick. That they are good guys who you should cheer cuz they will fight for you against whatever evil menace is in their way. When they are champions they are trying to sell you to believe they are the greatest wrestlers in the world. So a mark would be someone who cheers for them and buys into everything Cena and WWE wants you to think about their character. The fans who boo and chant "Cena Sucks!" are not marks cuz they are rebelling and refusing to buy into what's being sold to them.
I don't think it's really bad to be a mark so much in wrestling. I mean it's not like you are being convinced to take meth. Really anyone who likes a face wrestler or hates a heel wrestler is automatically a mark to an extent cuz that's what they want you to do. Basically people should just think for themselves and cheer what they want cuz it's fucking wrestling and it should be fun. |
