| So I was wondering, in various wrestling companies, we had and still have many tag teams. However, not all are great. Some are immediately over with the fans while the others are pushed down into mediocrity right from the start. We have also seen dysfunctional tag teams as of late with team hell no and also the team of Sheamus and Caesaro. So my question to the EAW community is this, what makes a tag team successful? Is it based solely on the capacity of it's members? Or has the writers got to do something about it? Or is it a combination of both? |

| I feel it's a combo of both. If you look at the successful tag teams IRL like the Dudleys, Hardys, Edge/Christian, Legion of Doom, etc, it's all about having something in common. The New Day is a trio of fun loving nerds, Team Hell No had anger management issues, and half of the teams out there are brothers- either by blood or kayfabe. The gimmick has to make the audience believe that your team can co-exist- even when you disagree with each other. |

| The key to a great tag team is complementarity. Every tag team has their members who add a little something to the other. For example NXT Tag Team Champions The Revival, Dawson is the technical part and Wilder is the striking rough part. |

| I believe it's all about chemistry and friendship that makes a good team |

| You guys raise some pretty good points here
Stephaine: You are bang on when you say it's about having something common. It's true though that all the successful tag teams have something in common. The more common the thing, the more powerful the team. And yes, the gimmick is indeed important
Anthony: Absolutely correct. Each member should add a little something to the team. That's the reason why it's called a team in the first place.
Amy: Friendship indeed makes a good team. Good friendship leads to a better chemistry among the members. |
