| Nah. No matter what anyone says, the simplicity of childhood will never be matched by anything else in your life. |

| Unless you hit the lottery at fucking 18 and move to Bermuda and surround yourself with gorgeous spanish broads sippin henny and yak on the coastline for the rest of your days with not a financial / moral worry in the world, your life doesn't get better after childhood.
Yeah I had shit slung my way as a kid, but as an adult its pretty shitty when you're bombarded by asshole landlords, have to work what'll soon be two jobs and try to balance relationships, friendships, judgmental asshole family members. It sucks. |

| Alright I came off as really pessimistic in my last post so I'll change my stance. Life CAN get better after childhood, but mine hasn't. But on the flip side I've been granted a lot of freedom of individuality and choice, and have learned great things and met great people who've made life worth living. |

| Much worse. Very much worse. Sometimes though, like they say, you have to talk to a 5 year old to really understand how simple life is and realize how much you're overthinking, overanalyzing and unnecessarily torturing yourself. |

| Let's pull back the curtain a bit and just empty our purse out on the library table then....
Between the ages of 3 and 6, my parents split up (I don't even remember them ever being together, outside of a vague memory of my dad slapping the piss out of my mom), it was discovered I was blind in one eye, which led to the discovery of 3 benign brain tumors in my head (one of which still remains after surgery at the age of 6 or 7), up until the age of 12, I had constant migraines and vomited (which still gives my mom massive guilt, because when I was little, she thought I was lying when I said I had headaches and didn't want to do stuff) and went into my teen years weighing about as much as the skinny girls in my class, and could fit my hand around my wrist and touch my palm with the tip of my fingers while doing so. This all subsided around the time I turned 13 and the doctors got the medication cocktail down pat to where I wouldn't have migraines anymore, which meant less vomiting, and considering around that time I got a step mom who could cook, I gained about 120 lbs over night.
And that's not taking into account the drunk and stoner boyfriends my mom ended up with, one of which hit me, which led to my dad camping outside of his house with a sniper rifle with no serial number for a weekend, the countless step mom's who tried to take my dad away from me to raise their own kids brought into the marriage (lost my dad for about a year because of this), getting nightly injections, my brother running away to live on the street for about a year and a half, having fluid literally sucked out the side of my head by a needle once every month or so, or the crazy fights that my dad ended up having with both my stepmoms and my brother that ended their relationships.
So yeah, things are pretty fucking peachy compared to back then. My family no longer hates each other or themselves, and I get to see everyone in it anytime I want without some drama spree breaking out. I get the mild headache still, but I haven't had the fluid drained in years, and I'm pretty damn healthy.

| It hasn't been greater than my childhood. I was always positive in childhood, even when personal shit was going on, I can go around happy and school was always great in some form. Now I am 20 and several years away from that, I have seen the nature of downhill for me and there are times where I have to struggle through the days with positivity. There will be a few things that keep me going but they don't compare to the life I had in childhood when I would only be upset if Ferrari never won during their domination season lol. |

You know, now that I'm getting older, I've been reflecting more on my childhood than I ever have and thinking of just how innocent I was and how happy I was, so happy that nothing could upset me for too long. Sometimes I'd like to just go back then, not to relive it but to reminisce on those times and be thankful that I was born. I'm glad that pictures/videos were taken so at least I have that but there are things I forget that I would like to remember of then. What I remember though, I cherish and just think of what it was like then. I don't know why I said these years are only getting better as then I wasn't too happy but I guess it's because I know they are and that I shouldn't be upset for too long like I wouldn't if I was a child because I had nothing to stress or worry about when I was outside playing basketball or watching it on TV with my dad or anything else that I remember. I get teary-eyed but I also just smile. I think I could learn something from my 6 year old self but I've learned something from my dad, not something he's taught me or anything but he's laughing, smiling, just having fun because he's living his life like he was as a child and trying not to stress or worry about so much even though he has which has led to him doing things that he shouldn't have but at the end of the day, he has the pure and loving heart of a child. So, I've learned that's what you should bear in this life we have. That's how I want to live the rest of my life like. |
