i'd like to see a trios or a survivor series tourney.  I'd also hope that my cellblock match would get used (message me for details).  also maybe some beat the clock gauntlets just off the top of my head.

I honestly think it'd be amazing to base a tournament off of CHIKARA's philosophy where characters can be "written/killed off".

16 or 32 person tournament, depending on how many people sign up, of course. Not sure what could represent "killing" somebody off, but could be something as simple as hitting your finisher on somebody in a match. The tournament/match would have to revolve around War-esque of course. Perhaps like a "Conquest Tournament". Opponents have to either submit to your will (swear allegiance), or have the match have the kill-or-be-killed adage and mentality.

Just thought of it right now honestly, so can obviously be improved with more thought process/input from others.

EDIT - To dive even further. Say it is a 16-person tournament, that basically implies 16 different "empires". (Yes, I know this fits the stereotype of me being very GOT-Based, but you guys actually think I like this stuff for the... wrestling???) But basically, there can only be two endings to each match. Kill-or-be-killed, or submit your will and swear fealty to the one that would have otherwise "killed" you. So, in a normal 16-person tournament, it would always be a 1-on-1 match. HOWEVER, it'd be cool if you can have the person that swore their allegiance make that a 2-on-1 match, and so forth and so forth. So potentially, in the finale, it could be something like 5 vs. 3, but it'd still be the conquest of ____ only. Only 1 winner. But this just allows so many amazing angles like betrayal, switching allegiance, proving loyalty, revenge, envy, all that political drama that we come to love. BUT in a wrestling atmosphere. Lets people continue on with their character rather than straight-up being eliminated over 1 match/loss. And would be interesting on how people would portray their character's intentions and how it'd translate to script.

I might be thinking of having a Street Fight-esque tournament. we go for a knockout-round tournament but two participants are locked inside a cage with cover and no place to escape and the match itself is under the Last Man Standing rules. the only way to win the match is to knock the opponent out until ten count.

I agree with this completely, but would love to see it from a perspective like Lucha Underground. (While this isn't going to be about the tournaments, and more NEO itself) A TV Show mixed with wrestling and tournaments; characters with their own specific back stories and pasts, no matter how over the top they are. It's something that I've thought about delving in from a pure story perspective, but never had the time to attempt to do so.

So bare with me on this one. 

I used to run my own fed a few years back, and I had a PPV on it named, "Flight of the Imagination." I never got around to doing this PPV because the fed ended up closing down before we could reach the event.

Pretty much, this event would have about 8-10 matches, and anyone can participate. Before each match, the General Manager would spin three roulette wheels - one for a stipulation, one for where the match will take place and one for either how the match must end/what must happen in the match. 

For example:

Stipulation: No Holds Barred Match.
Where: On a cruise-ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
How must the match end?: Throw the opponent overboard. 

Something like that. The point of the event was to use your imagination to create the most obscene and weirdest matches as possible - stuff you'd never see in real life.

EAW does, not NEO. Also, the participants would basically be new because our EAW characters can't be used for this.

For a serious post, I like the idea of a one night tournament, which is too hard to pull off in a storyline driven fed with a bazillion opponents you have to address.  The concept could even limit the promo to a type of promo (best story driven RP, best trash talking RP).

Of course, I have always thought there is more life in the WCW triple cage than we got to see with it.

I would like to see a tournament where EAW is divided into International Representatives (Ex: Team Asia, Team Euro, Team Canada, Team US, Team "Rest of the World") with at least 4 reps per international team.

I like Xav's idea with the whole Lucha Underground thing and everyone having their own backstories.  It forces people to be creative and it sounds like a lot of fun.

I've always been privy to the idea of a Survivor Series styled knockout tournament with the survivors moving to the next round.  It would be hell on writers though.

I've also had this strange idea for a battle royal where you have 4 people on each side of the ring who can enter only when people are thrown out.  Sort of a Red Rover Rumble.   If you enter when a side is empty, you have to take that side of the ring.  If everyone in-ring is eliminated before you get into the match, then you're automatically knocked out of the battle royal/eliminated without competing.  I think that sort of thing would also be hell on a writer though, and would probably be more lucrative in a setting where you could build off of the people who never entered the match having a reason for griping/turning/starting a feud.  

I've always liked the Dragon Gate Dead or Alive Survival Cage gimmick where two factions enter with each member having something on the line.  The last person in the ring at the end of the match has to suffer whatever consequence they agreed upon.  From an in-ring storyline perspective it's always interested. Sometimes people have a conscience and stick around to try and win when they get the chance to escape, and some leave their teams high and dry in the name of self-preservation. 

Torneo Cibernetico also interests me.  It would also be writer's hell though.
