CHARACTER INFORMATION
Disposition/Alignment: Face (chaotic good). Amadeus does things his own way, fighting his own version of the good fight. You'll hear the chants of his name in the crowd much more often these days.
Gimmick: Warrior/philosopher. Despite the ups and downs of his roller coaster ride in EAW, Amadeus maintains a positive outlook. He sees his trials and tribulations as the crucible in which something greater is formed. He is quirky and contemplative, but when the bell rings, he fights with a chaotic energy that is infectious.
RINGSIDE INFORMATION
Theme Music: 'Do You Call My Name' by Ra
Entrance Description: As an abbreviated sitar introduction gives way to the rock opener of 'Do You Call My Name', Amadeus bursts through the curtains, hyping up the crowd from one side of the stage to another. When the music slows down, he makes his way to the top of the ramp, taking a knee as the lights dim. When the major riff of the song hits, he jumps back up and makes his way down the ramp, slapping hands with the fans.
MOTIVATIONS
What are your character’s motivations for competing? Amadeus fights for his dreams, and the dreams of those watching at home, looking to elevate not only himself, but the whole of EAW. He finds meaning and purpose in life in the middle of the ring. Through the baptism of blood and pain, he ascends. Now he is fallen, but in the end, rock bottom is just a starting point.
Tendency to Cheat: Rarely. Amadeus often stretches the rules of decency with his rope breaks, and will occasionally use weapons if the opportunity presents itself, but he never goes out of his way to cross the threshold into cheating.
IN-RING INFORMATION
Wrestling Debut: July 2015 on EAW Battleground
Favorite Match Types: Submission or No DQ
Favorite Weapon: Chains, used in a variety of ways: wrapped around his fists for strikes, for whipping, choking, or wrapped around an opponent's limbs for extra torque for submissions.
Wrestling Style: Chaotic counter-based with an emphasis on limb work and high flying spots. Amadeus attacks from a variety of angles, using his speed and mobility to thwart his opponent's offense, picking spots to wear down their limbs, and leaving them susceptible to his high risk moves and devastating submissions.
Common Moves:
1. Limb targeting stretches (various armbars and leglocks, often with the ropes involved)
2. stomps to opponent's limbs, feet, or hands (Fred Yehi or Ron Garvin style)
3. standing moonsault or shooting star press
4. hurricanrana (sometimes poisoned)
5. satellite headscissors (sometimes transitioned into an armbar)
6. tope con hilo
7. mushroom stomp (sometimes off the top rope)
8. rolling elbow
9. standing shiranui
10. tornado DDT (often off of a springboard)
11. diving or running somersault neckbreaker
12. corkscrew reverse elbow (running, flying, or springboard)
13. ORAORAORA! (a machine gun flurry of lefts and rights, stunning an opponent, followed by a discus punch to put them down)
14. sidestepping a flying opponent to grab a limb and drop them limb-first to the mat (also Fred Yehi-style) or catching them into an armbar
15. chop block
16. release dragon suplex
17. pele kick
18. scissors kick
19. leg sweep
20. acrobatic or matrix-style dodges
Signature Moves:
1. 'Calamitas'corkscrew moonsault
2. 'Green Dream' burning green mist spat into an opponent's face; is flammable and Amadeus will sometimes use a lighter to blow it as a fireball in his opponent's face
3. 'Devil's Chains' grounded octopus stretch
4. 'Deus Ex' backslide driver
5. 'Dreamwalk' backflip northern lights suplex followed by an ax kick to the head
6. 'Star Platinum Smash' sliding forearm smash
Old Finishers & Tributes:
these are moves that Amadeus breaks out on very rare occasion, generally in high leverage or multi-person matches; they usually won't end the match, but represent Amadeus digging into his deep arsenal
1. 'Dynamo Death Dive': double rotation senton bomb
3. 'Second Coming (Advent Secundus)': flying stunner; generally Amadeus will hit this off of a springboard, or flying off the top rope for a corkscrew variation; occasionally, he will use it as a counter for an aerial maneuver.
4.'Seeing Sparks' fireman's carry lift into an overhead kick; tribute to Brody Sparks
5. 'Devil Drop' a Tiger Bomb, in tribute to his mother, Devil Mai
6. 'Death Row' a step-up knee strike, in tribute to his grandfather, The Great Kira
7. 'Fallen Angel' a running, jumping electric chair driver, in tribute to his father, Cole "Angellus" Andrews.
Comeback Sequence:
-Initiated after being laid out by a big move from his opponent, when momentum is completely against him. Amadeus will suddenly kip up back to his feet, inciting a pop from the crowd. When the opponent rushes him, he drops to his back to evade and immediately kips up back to his feet. When the opponent rushes him again, Amadeus sidestep evades and hits a release dragon suplex. Continuing his momentum from the suplex, he rolls backwards to his feet and hits a scissors kick as his opponent is getting back to their feet.
Finishing Moves:
1. 'Excrucian I' & 'Excrucian II' Respectively, either a bridging Fujiwara armbar (a la Tommaso Ciampa) or a calf slicer compression lock (A.J. Styles' Calf Crusher); Amadeus uses either one depending on whichever limb he's happened to focus on during the match 2. 'Final Advent of the Timeless Enigma' (usually known as FATE and Final Advent) fireman's carry spun out into a high angle side slam (Hiromu Takahashi's Time Bomb) Ultimate Finisher.'Deus Ex Nihilus' Shooting Star Press into a DDT
NOTES
Wrestling runs in Amadeus' family. His mother, Maia Baiyushi, was known as Devil Mai, a decorated masked joshi wrestler in Japan. She was a high-flying ace of her promotion until an accident in the ring cut her life short. His maternal grandfather, Keiji Baiyushi, was known as The Great Kira, held titles all around the globe and wrestled at a high level into his 60s. His father was Cole Andrews, known as 'Angellus', a noted death match wrestler. Cole was murdered by Keiji after attempting to leave the country after Amadeus was born.
Amadeus wears a black armband with one of Brody Sparks' emblems on it on his arm in remembrance of his fallen sister.
