If not that, how about "Storyline of the Week".

For anybody thinking this would overlap "Segment of the Week" - I'd disagree. Storyline development and segment writing aren't always the same parallel. For example, you can progress a story through match interference, or simply a match upset or something along those lines. A lot of great stories going on in EAW right now. If you have repeat winners, then so be it - how is that different from someone winning Promoer of the Week time and time again? But this is a great way to bring recognition and awareness to the best storylines going on in EAW right now, and being able to pinpoint what makes a feud worth dwelling into.

Tag team of the week?

Isn't shoutouts what MVE is supposed to be? Giving everyone a shoutout by giving them weekly recognition for their contributions to that subject? For an example, we're giving a shoutout to the best promoer of that week, by awarding them Promoer of the Week. If someone else wants to tell them good job pal, they can just tell them formally themselves.

I do like Tag Team of the Week though, great idea, SK.

And to add to the defense of "Storyline of the Week" - EAW/Wrestling in general is not interesting at all if you don't plan around them/make people care. Matches mean nothing for the most part without storyline purposes. And segments ABSOLUTELY mean nothing without storyline purposes. Can't sustain without them, so why not bring recognition to it?

You can chalk it up however you like. Feud of the Week/Storyline of the Week. Same difference. You can go millions of directions with such an award. You could cater to something that is new, fresh and developing - or you can pinpoint on a rivalry that just got even bloodier/more personal, after months of previous build-up. Can't believe it took me this long to actually suggest this, but definitely not seeing a better alternative, and it's a great way to hype up potential FPV matches as well.

Edit: Tag Team of the Week would make sense... if we had more than 2-3 at a time. I suggested that originally with the same mindframe, but that would be quite redundant after awhile. Especially with the limited teams we have, don't even team all the time.

With all that said, I will take into consideration of all the given options. Segment of the week seems like a certain one for now. Next weeks MVE should be interesting. Thank ya' all

I also concur with SK's. Seems like a great idea. As for Segment of the Week, I personally think it's a great addition.

Segment of the week and Storyline of the week are both good ideas. I can see them both working out good.

Tag team of the week would be good if we had a competitive tag team division. I would just suggest giving tag teams more of a consideration for winning the other awards. I'm almost positive this has been done before, I would just stress it when tag teams are competing with each other each week. Mercenaries winning the award every week would get repetitive for everyone, I'd hold off on a specific award until the division has more depth.

As for writer awards, I suggest just attaching the writer's name at the end of some of the other awards. Put whoever wrote the MOTW at the end of the award. Same for Segment of the week if we go with that.

Yes tag teams are able to win any MVE award.

Some new suggestions to consider:

Scene of the Week - Not everyone does scene promos, so this won't have the mass appeal to please everyone in all likelihood, but I think it would be an excellent idea to reward promoers for their creativity. I think enough people put effort into their setting and environment to warrant this, while at the same time "Promoer of the Week" already exists to ensure everyone writing in their format of choice gets a fair shake.

Moment of the Week - A script-based award which is virtually self-explanatory, whatever move in a match, phrase in a segment, blindsided attack, etc, is deemed deserving of being the singular most recognizable and noteworthy occurrence wins. Basically "Feat of the Week" but applying to scripted promos, shocking announcements, and the like in addition.

I don't mind Storyline of the Week, Promo of the Week, or Line of the Week, but I'm opposed to Tag Team of the Week for reasons already stated (not enough teams, repetitiveness particularly).

I like the Segment of the Week.

How about a "Spot of the Week"?

Finisher of the Week? Something along those lines?
