A severe knee injury and subsequent ACL reconstruction mid-way through his final college season with the Marshall Thundering Herd left his dreams shattered and his future uncertain. Lewis was a dual-sport athlete in both football and wrestling, boasting accolades as an All-State athlete in both sports, a leading contender for the Heisman Trophy in football and a shoe-in for an NFL contract - all shattered within ten fateful seconds. The draft came and went, and all 32 NFL teams passed on the 21 year old due to injury concerns. He was left with a tough decision - Arena Football or professional wrestling. Neither was a choice that befitted the kid who felt he had the world at his feet.
Post-injury, Calvin Lewis is set to prove to the world that he has not lost a step. He is set to prove it to the league who passed him over, that he can still play. Lewis is determined to rise to the top, through his own physical talent so that there will be no doubt in anybody's mind - the Epitome of Excellence is here. While he pushes the boundaries of what he can get away with inside the wrestling ring, he plays within the rules, knowing that he does not need to cheat in order to win.
Calvin Lewis is Perfection Personified, a persona he places on himself where he believes that everything he touches is golden. He can do anything he sets his mind and body to, professional wrestling should be an easy business to crack for a rare talent such as himself. He is cocky and self-assured, but tends to win people over with his athletic in-ring abilities and by the simple fact that he will take on any and all competitors. He puts his money where his mouth is. Calvin Lewis believes he is the best, the Epitome of Excellence... Just try and prove otherwise.

ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION

Detailed Entrance Description (Optional): The arena is plunged into blackout as the beat of 'This is Gonna Hurt' by Sixx: A.M. blares out of the PA system. The anticipation builds as blue searchlights scatter around the arena in a seemingly random pattern.

As the verse hits, the words 'Epitome of Excellence' appear on the screen in golden script. The searchlights seem to all converge on one spot, the entrance stage. A solitary figure appears in the spotlight, wearing a black hooded vest with the hood up and his head down to hide his identity.
'This is a second coming
This is a call to arms
Your finest hour won't be wasted wasted

Rise against your fate fate

He walks up to the front of the stage and pauses, kneeling down to one knee.

As the chorus hits, the stage explodes with a shower of golden pyrotechnics. Calvin Lewis throws the hood off and stands to his feet, walking through the curtain of golden sparks and hitting the entrance stage. His eyes remain determined as he makes a beeline for the ring, walking in a confident swagger. Taking the steps to the ring, he ritually wipes his boots on the apron before slipping under the top rope and entering the ring. Once inside, the Epitome of Excellence heads straight for the turnbuckle opposite him and climbs its heights. Raising his arms to his sides, he lets the fans know that Perfection Personified has arrived, before completing a perfectly executed backflip off the turnbuckle.

Face / TweenerGimmick (20 words or more): Cocky budding football star reluctantly turned into pro-wrestler. Calvin Lewis was destined for the NFL, but this dream was cut short by a knee injury that left him without a contract. Reluctantly, Lewis chose instead to become a professional wrestler hoping to pave a way back to his ideal career. Above all, he feels that he is destined for 'more than wrestling' and that this is simply a 'means to an end'.
There is no doubting that Calvin Lewis is an athletic talent. Referring to himself as the 'Epitome of Excellence', he believes that he sets the talent benchmark for other EAW wrestlers to live up to; he believes himself to be a picture of perfection.
Overall, he is a true competitor. A face by name only, mainly due to his desire to 'take out the biggest, baddest dog in the yard'. However, there is no doubt that despite the obvious talent that wins him fans, he walks around with a giant chip on his shoulder.
