I haven't seen a thread about it anywhere on the website so I decided to create one myself. Feel free to talk anything about the show here.
My random thoughts on the walking dead (this is just my opinion that I thought I would share with all of you, you do NOT have to agree with everything I say):
I was a really huge fan of the show when I first started watching. There were a lot of great scenes and action during the first two seasons I think. For example when Rick first time came to Atlanta or when they handcuffed Merle Dixon on top of the roof then came the next day to get him and he disappeared (I thought that was really interesting). I also loved SHane and Rick storyline, I thought they both had great chemistry together. I don't know if its just me but I think ever since then the show sucked and has been boring. Here's the list of reasons why I think that :
- Shane' death. His death definitely made me mad and sad at the same time.He has been by far one of the best and most badass characters on the show, hell maybe even better than Rick and Darryl. What made him so great is he was the best friend Rick has ever had and the best "bad" guy he's ever faced. He was a great fighter, great leader and I honestly think the Rick now in season 5 is really like Shane (he's being really overprotective of his group, he doesn't really want/like when new people want to join his group and he's being a realist). A lot of people say they don't like Shane because he was a big jerk but thats what makes him so entertaining and the actor did a really awesome job at playing the character. I think if they let Shane live longer he would definitely make show really exciting. He could run away from Ricks group to create his own group and they would have one of the best face-offs at the end of the show. I know they killed him because thats what happened in the comics but they don't have to follow everything thats written in the original script. Let's face it TV show is probably going to change something very big thats not in the comics such as keeping Darryl alive longer because everyone doesn't want him to die
- Walkers. If the walkers were really scary and everyone was afraid of them in the first two seasons now nobody gives shit about them. There is nobody in Rick's group who can't kill a walker, hell even father Gabriel can as we've seen. They can walk next to 20 walkers and they won't even bother to kill them because they are weak as hell and don't do shit, its like they are not even there. I know that recently they almost bit Rick and Darryl but it was done on purpose. I just wish they played a much bigger part on the show and they would make them stronger
- This show is about zombie apocalypse and yet its always people vs. people. Like what the hell? Also if its zombie apocalypse, why are there so many people JUST in state of Georgia? I don't know man. Its fucking weird and it kinda annoys me
- Last three seasons felt really bad. Their time in the prison? It was really boring. There wasn't action at all. They just sat inside for the entire show fighting the disease. Sure they had a confrontation with the Governor but their entire fight/war only lasted for about two episodes.Governor was an okay bad guy but I've never seen him as great, certainly can't stand anywhere near to Shane. Also Lori's death seemed to me so early and so random and I don't even like her. The only two things which I loved about the season is Michonne's badass debut and the time Glenn was really sick and it made me believe that he was going to die.
Umm, fourth season again didn't have much action at all and it was done to hype the Terminus as the next big thing, which was done in one episode in season 5. Like WTF? It feels like Vince McMahon wrote show, not even fucking kidding. Anyway they introduced us to the Washington storyline which was one of the coolest ideas and most exciting they had in awhile but of course they had to kill in no time. Now they are trying to find a community place where they can live which is like the same shit they did for like 90% of the show and it feels like they are just copying and pasting everything that happened before and after Season 3
- Last thing that drives me nuts is how they handled Beth. She was on the show for a long freaking ass time since season 2 (I think) and she was never relevant. Now they give her a storyline some air time at the start of season 5 and kill her almost right away. Like why? What's the point? I was never a big fan of her and I don't know why people are so sad and shocked about her death but I just find writer's logic so hilarious.
I think thats all I have to say for now. Don't get me wrong, I still watch the show and I really like Glenn, Michonne, Rick and Darryl. All of them make show sort of interesting but man did the Walking Dead drop the ball. I hope that they'll improve and I hope that this whole town company storyline is going to make me think only positive things about the show.
