| great point. However, some hipster names work out. In 2001 you prolly wouldnt have thought that a guy named Seth Rollins would be the top heel in the WWE. |

| Nah.
Even if you look at the industry itself, you strip the greats of their talent, the personas that made them who they are, you're left with names that are nothing special whatsoever. If someone is good enough to reach the top here, regardless of their name, their talent will overshadow it. |

| Obviously. It's a part of the package, sometimes it's life or death, sometimes its very small to a minute almost non need to worry about it way, but of course a name always matters to a certain degree. |

| I think somewhat, like did Husky Harris or Bastien Booger really have a chance? But I think that a bad name can be overcome if you have the talent. Dolph Ziggler is a good example, I still hate that name but I've come to associate it with his good matches so it's not as bad as it was. |

| I don't think it makes much of a difference. If a guy going around calling himself H in Triple form, I'm pretty sure anything else in wrestling can stick. Let's be real now, "Mr. DEDEDE" is arguably EAW's biggest legend. Not exactly a top-flight name.
If you have the talent, you can make ANYTHING sound good. You can make anything sound mainevent material, like DDD/Rock/Triple H have. |

| I don't give two shits if you're a good promoer. There's no way you're getting a push with a name like Fudge McGoo.
Nah but names don't really affect success. As long as the name isn't ridiculously stupid then it's fine. |

| I mean... When I first came to feds... I was "The Kidd" and didn't get anything until I finally changed my name to Jacob Steele. Then again, that was back in 08-09. As of present, I don't think it matters too much as long as you got quality and consistency with your promos. |

That's a good example of a ridiculously stupid name and no talent to back it up but still managing to be successful. Tho to be fair it was in AWL. |

| If you're a good enough writer and move on easily from losses unlike many of these petulant children who get caught up in every defeat, the extent to which your name matters isn't significant. |

This is 100% true, but I refuse to let DDD & I be outed without mentioning Robbie V and Mister K being in that same group. That said, these names are still better than things like "Deadman 4 Life" and "wweforever98". Alejandro Ariel was a pretty badass name, by the way. |

| I remember an old efed I was in that for a long time thought I was pure Italian because of my characters name, outright ignoring the character and the theme for him. Pagliacci, which is a heel clown gimmick based off of the name of the clown from the opera Vesti La Guibba. Nope, I'm just a Mario man named Pagliacci. To be fear, the league was run by idiots, but I'd have to say that names don't outright not help you, but it depends on the person. |
