| So with the success of the Cruiserweight Classic and the United Kingdom Championship Tournament what do you guys think of the upcoming Women's tournament set to take place this summer? They've been hiring a lot of women and putting them through NXT lately so I'm curious what you guys think about it.
Will it be successful? Would the tournament lead to another secondary women's title, or maybe a shot at one of the current titles? Maybe it would kickstart a women's wrestling TV show in the same way the CWC pathed the way for 205 Live and how the UKCT is getting a UK show on the network. What are your thoughts? |

| Talent wise I hope it'll be just like the UK Tournament and the CWC, mostly unsigned talent and at the very least talent that has yet to debut on WWE programming. Name wise, i'd love to see this be the way Nixon Newell and Kairi Hojo debut, as both of those women i'm predicting will go very far with the company. Talent that aren't signed, but i'd love to be involved are Candice LeRae, Toni Storm, Kay Lee Ray, Tessa Blanchard and Rachel Ellering all scream out to me as being great for this.
With the tournament, I think it'll be successful, and i'd rather it be done in the way of the UK Tournament rather than the CWC. I enjoyed have two days to knock it out of the park with action back-to-back. Of course if you're looking to run a weekly show right after the tournament, it'd be a better idea to do the tournament as a weekly show similar to the CWC as a way to build things up over a span of time and really see who the crowd favors, etc.
I think if WWE's looking for the smart money they'll go with another one hour show on the network for the women. If you look at all of the big social media trends to do with wrestling the past two to three years, over half of it has dealt with women's wrestling. With the right talent and right presentation, it'd be successful. Don't treat them and subject them as women, book them with the same mindset you do with the men and the show will go off without a hitch and be fine. I find if they do go the route of it's own show, it'll be a bit difficult as I highly don't think creative wise they'll pull it off. Just look at the current stories they've gotten for the women already signed.
Overall, I think it'll be a success, and i'm in the boat that you can't over saturate in WWE as long as it's Network Exclusive. With cable tv shows, sure, however I view the Network as Netflix, and the more on demand content the better. So bring on the Women's Tournament! I can't wait, and I hope everyone involved shines and shows once and for all that the women deserve the big spotlight just as the men do. |

| I pretty much agree with what Axl said, especially when it comes to the names that will probably be involved.
I hope it doesn't lead to a woman's show but I think it will. WWE has had that idea in their heads since the 90's. While I like women's wrestling I realize that it can be hit or miss even with the right talent. Case in point, RoH has tried with their Women of Honor shows online and on the air for awhile and they've only squeezed out a few good matches despite having very talented women. The big problem with that might be their emphasis on ROH Dojo grads going against (and absurdly enough, over) more talented women, but even when people like Heidi and Veda Scott have mixed it up in the ring for ROH it's come off lackluster for whatever reason.
I also realize that I'm in a niche minority of fans, albeit a growing one. If a show like that fails to garner attention it could hurt the main roster division. Besides, a lot of female driven promotions have already taken quite a few hits with very minimal signings to the WWE in the form of people like Asuka, Kimber Lee, Nicole Matthews and Heidi Lovelace. Imagine what will happen when they take 32 women out of the indy market? or 16? Or 8? It's a very fragile ecosystem of maybe 100 really great female wrestlers out there worth noting, or at least enough out there to make me feel slightly jilted when two or three don't show up on the Female 50 for PWI. Maybe it's just selfish indy fanboyishness, but WWE has taken enough of a chunk out of the global indy market without going after the women.
With all of that neuroses and negativity out of the way, I am looking forward to the tournament and seeing who they bring in and who sticks around after. I kind of hope they do go through NXT and the winner gets a shot at the NXT title, it'd be a great way to unseat Asuka if nothing else, and a great way to build them up before they go to the main roster *cough* like they should've done with the crusierweights *cough*. |

| I think the winner will be the same as the previous tournament. Some "underdogs" who is actually not being affiliated with any wrestling companies and actually already sign a contract. I won't be surprised if Kairi Hojo is the one winning it of all good names out there |

| This is the equivalent of when McDonalds started really experimenting with things on their menu. First they started giving us the classics like a McRib (Cruiserweight Classic) which was pretty good, but only because we hadn't had it in a long while. Then they tried to spice it up with some classic white people food by introducing Mozzarella sticks (UK Tournament) and we tried them and were like "well that wasn't horrible but it wasn't exactly good". And now we've got some goddamn WOMEN'S tournament?? Shit, why doesn't McDonalds just offer to take a giant shit on a bun? Not one of their Big Mac buns, but like the cheep McChicken bun, leave it out overnight so it gets nice and stale and room temperature, and then not even bother to wrap it before throwing it in a goddamn paper bag and charging us $6.00 like it's a fucking McGriddle? That's what the Women's Tournament is gonna be like. And I know some of you fucking fanboys are going to take a nice big chomp at that McShitwich and say "Wow this is so innovative, so delicious, so new! I love it. I love the Mickey D's is giving this McShitwich a chance". But you're all a bunch of marks. You're all a bunch of shit-eating marks |
