I don't think I'd ever have an emotional attachment to any inanimate object. I might laugh at them for being goofy, but that's as far as it goes. I've hit a computer before. I've also thrown a phone on the ground in anger and it wasn't even because of the phone, it was because of the person on the other line. I get why people question this sort of thing considering how people grow attached or sentimental about phones or whatever, but the same could be said about people with cars. i don't think anyone would ever rape their car, mostly because raping an inanimate object is impossible. It has zero will one way or the other. It has zero objection or consent one way or the other.
My brother is obsessed with the singularity and he's asked me multiple times about things like 'what robot part would you get?' or other silly stuff. It's been a point of contention with us because he says, technology permitting, he'd download his brain into robotic software and go full robot. I've told him that if he no longer possessed his own organic brain tissue that I wouldn't consider him my brother anymore. He doesn't understand that being fully a robot changes his entire nature and would potentially change his way of thinking, plus it wouldn't really be his brain. It would be like trying to replace multiple live concerts from a band with one record. You lose a major part of the identity of the Beatles if you only have their first album. That sort of thing. But I'm a tad out of range with my thought process. Either way, robots are not to be trusted or pitied.
