there was a thread last year for 2015 anime season and why not have one for this year. 2016 was a great year for Anime and Anime fans, with the rise of the new shows, old ones continuing. Personally, I haven't seen this good of a year for Anime since 2007 (The year of Death Note, Gurren Lagann and etc).
Best Soundtrack
Haikyuu S3
For me, nothing beats the epic tracks of Haikyuu S3. Especially when the games were on and you knew that some big play was going to come when someone is yelling "CHANCE BALL!!!!". Yuuki Hayashi did an amazing job with this show's music and really has become a massive star because of the tracks in Haikyuu. The standout track is "Above", with the violins being an amazing piece and just standing out.

Best Episode: Haikyuu S3 episode 9 "Volleyball Idiots"
This episode had everything needed to make it perfect for a Sports Anime, a miraculous comeback from an injured player, The spirits high with that return and so many false finished to game where we thought both Karusuno and Shiratorizawa would win the game, the track Above playing during the last portion of the game and cliff-hanger of an ending to the episode.

Haikyuu is a show that I can't stop ever watching especially when the OPs are great and Volleyball games are amazing as well, the characters have had such an amazing journey for the entire show's existence and it honestly is an anime that you shouldn't care about the genre and just watch it! The comedy is good as a shounen, sports should be and the characters are great especially Tsuki, Hinata and Kageyama.
Honorable Mentions: DB Super, Shokugeki No Soma S2, Assassination Classroom S2 and Digimon Tri.
