| I commend him for doing something completely and totally outside his realm. He left something he was completely great at to do something in which the odds were forever and completely not in his favor. Guy has balls.
As for the cockiness, I do agree he should of been more humbled especially as he's never fought an MMA match in his life. Maybe if he decides to do it again, he will fix the errors and perhaps win the next one. |

| At least he can lasted for 2 minutes. To be honest, I never have my hope high for Punk's UFC career and here we go. He only has 1 match so far though, so he MIGHT prove me wrong in future dates. |

| Full credit to Punk for doing what a lot of people wouldn't and actually stepping foot inside the octagon.
But, that's as far as it goes, really. Punk called the people that Gall had faced prior Tomato Cans. What does this make Punk? He rushed him, got dropped and Gall has his way with him. The only reason the fight lasted as long as it did was because of the time that Punk has his feet on the cage. I expect UFC to cut their ties with Punk rather soon.
Mickey Gall though has a HUGE future ahead of him. His third win and third fight that hasn't made it past the first round. It'll be interesting to see what happens when he faces someone with a boatload of experience, but it doesn't look like he'll be troubled too much.
Good head on his shoulders and seems extremely humble. Plus, you just know that McMahon is smiling ear to ear right now. |

| All I know is that Robbie had a field day and that wife beater Browne got owned. Punk now knows what it means to square off against a real fighter. Hopefully he learns from this experience. I hope Mickey's career explodes from this. I like the kid. |

| I've never had a problem with CM Punk and I was a huge fan of his when he entered the WWE.
The problem that I have is that he skipped amateur fights, had a 0-0 record and was allowed to enter the UFC. That is complete bullshit and pretty much spits on every other young person trying to fight their way onto the big show while making pennies and paying for the training out of pocket.
BATISTA FOUGHT HIS ONLY MMA FIGHT ON A SMALL SHOW THAT NO ONE HEARD OF!!! BATISTA DIDN'T NEED TO GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO FIGHT ON THE BIGGEST STAGE AND TAKE A SPOT FROM SOMEONE WHO DESERVED IT!
CM Punk is too old, too beat up, and is too non-athletic to ever win a fight. I can guarantee 100% that he will never win a fight unless it's against some complete scrub off the street that has never fought before.
Rant over.
Punk is cool though. Hopefully he returns to wrestling someday. |

| Like Alex Wilder said, he skipped amateur fights and it's important in the MMA/UFC world. Nobody can pretend to be a great UFC fighter without amateur fights even you're a star in an other sport. Full credits to Punk nonetheless. |

| I've been a fan of CM Punk since he was with WWE's ECW. Sadly, I didn't know about ROH and the indys before that. But I have supported him from the start of his WWE career until now and I will continue to support him no matter what. He has given us so many great moments, he has entertained us in a way NOBODY has in a long time. If you don't want to respect him for everything he did to make WWE better, to make Wrestling as a WHOLE more entertaining that's fine. But you should at least respect him for having the balls to do what he did. He walked into the UFC octagon with no experience whatsoever, he had the odds absolutely stacked against him but still did everything he could to win out there. CM Punk is a fucking legend. I guarantee you there's not a wrestler on WWE's current roster (Other than Brock obviously) man enough to do what Punk did last night. I don't understand why he's getting so much hate honestly. Half of these haters were creaming their pants when he dropped the "pipebomb" and if/when he returns to pro wrestling they will cream their pants again cause people are hypocritical like that. I agree with Mexi tho.. He should have done what Batista did. Although let's be honest.. If Batista was given the chance to fight for UFC he would have taken it too. |

but fuck me I can't see him winning a single fight, perhaps never going past round 1 in the UFC. At his age, he's never going to build a credible record. His performance was an abomination. |

| I'd be more willing to give him credit for at least trying, and Punk is still one of my favorite wrestlers, but the more I hear about him the more I realize what an asshole he is and how (to some extent) he brought some of what happened to him in WWE upon himself. Not all of it, just a bit, but that's neither here nor there. My issue was he walked into this match with such a smug, arrogant attitude, even go as far as to not shake Gall's hand at the weigh in. I mean come on! Not to mention I hate this mindset of both UFC and WWE thinking "Hey I did the one thing, surely I can do the other thing too". Yeah he deserves credit for trying something new and all that, but I just don't feel he really respected UFC or the fighters as much as he should have. He's pretty much in the Lesnar situation getting more hype and attention than he really deserves because of his time in WWE.
I seriously think he needed this to humble him and let me know just because he's CM Punk doesn't actually make him the best in the world. |
